To not be at all surprised to hear about the latest celeb affair?

DH was quite surprised to hear about Jeremy Clarkson, but I wasnt. Not at all, infact I am surprised to hear if a famous man hasnt had an affair at some point.

They are famous, rich and away from home alot so are bound to be targetted by a certain type of woman. Also, alot of them are cossetted and looked after to the point where they believe that they can get away with things that us mere mortals cant, despite the fact that the paps are following them all the time.

Am I cynical as DH suggests or is he niave?!

let me widen the subject a little...this is not about JC

Apparently more and more big business names and famous sportman;
are getting total injunctions against all of the media over unflattering stories.

So the press are starting to do what they dont usually do: Joining up with other papers to fight the injunction growth.

The Times and the Mirror are involved (not usually bedfellows) and it may well spread. These injunction apparently prohibit parliament from saying anything.

I think most people would agree the business stories are more importand,if less titilataing, than the sex stories. It wil;l be interested to see how it develps.

Apparently if you are rich enough, you can get a judge out of bed in the middle of the night to serve an injunction. ( It easier if he or she is in your bed)

I definitely remember JC being in the papers over the last few years for at least two other dalliances (both "ladies" (I use it lightly)) who worked at the BBC ... I'm guessing Mrs JC who runs his life / business doesn't actually care that much and lets him get on with it while still having the nice lifestyle for her and the children. At least it probably keeps him away from her so in that respect if its true she's one sensible woman .............

NormanTebbit · 05/04/2011 16:11

I thought he was gay

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2011 16:22

I've worked with Mirror jornos on stories and since the Mirrogate Piers Morgan scandal with the soldiers that weren't they do a lot to ensure a story is 100% true before printing it. Something like this would have to be 100% gospel.

5DollarShake · 05/04/2011 16:48

This is the first I have heard about JC, but he strikes me as being akin to a rutting Jack Russell, so no, it doesn't surprise me.

EldritchCleavage · 05/04/2011 17:40

These injunction apparently prohibit parliament from saying anything.

Not possible, Gabby. Hence the revolting Hemmings person's recent statement in the house revealing the subject-matter of a super-injunction.

The newspapers are operating less from principle than for survival-these kind of stories are now their stock in trade. People get real news from the telly.

I think I'd like a worldwide super-injunction to prevent anyone publishing anything that talks about JC in a sexual context. Puke, puke, puke.

LineRunner · 05/04/2011 17:45

Attempts to prevent discussion of super-injunctions with MPs have been labelled hyper-injunctions.

I can't help but notice that clairefromsteps has not been back..

maybe she really was claire from steps and I pissed her off by saying they were crap as obviously my opinion is the only one that counts....

anyway...bit off topic...sorry

kittya · 05/04/2011 18:53

Im pretty sure clairefromsteps wouldve come up with something more original if it was her!!

TiggyD · 05/04/2011 19:09

Because Steps were so original?!

HerBeX · 05/04/2011 20:46

Well I knew Clarkson had done something dodgy because Private Eye put his name in the same sentence as super injunctions and freedom of speech a few weeks ago (he'd come out with some shit about believing in freedom of speech and they said they looked forward to him declaring he was against super injuctions, or words along those lines). Oblique, but very obvious.

I wonder how many other shagging slebs have them? According to Ian Hislop, loads of them.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2011 21:41

Doesn't Ian Hislop reckon you can print anything about anyone as long as you put "allegedly"

As in "JC is allegedly having an affair".

kittya · 05/04/2011 21:45

I don't think alot of them would bother tbh. Afterall there's thousands of people in showbiz merrily shagging about. A minority of them get grassed up.

HerBeX · 05/04/2011 22:06

LOL I don't think that allegedly thing is true...

Kleftico · 05/04/2011 22:16

Me neither! But didn't Ian Hislop and Paul Merton ridicule Angus Deaton over his affairs and erm habits on HIGNFY? They put him in his place I think, and quite rightly.

Perpetuallypregnant · 05/04/2011 22:16
