DH was quite surprised to hear about Jeremy Clarkson, but I wasnt. Not at all, infact I am surprised to hear if a famous man hasnt had an affair at some point.

They are famous, rich and away from home alot so are bound to be targetted by a certain type of woman. Also, alot of them are cossetted and looked after to the point where they believe that they can get away with things that us mere mortals cant, despite the fact that the paps are following them all the time.

Am I cynical as DH suggests or is he niave?!

and yes, papers can't prevent stuff from being said in parliament; nobody can. Someone (trafigura, oil company) tried, tried to stop papers reporting on stuff said about them in Parliament and from it being recorded in Hansard, but FAILED. Big time.

Take That got a lot of media coverage in their very early days because Andi was seeing Gary and Andi was pretty high up in the BBC.
