To wish people would just shut up about the amount of kids I have?

I'm pregnant with our fourth baby in four years (Been together 8) and I wonder why friends, family and aquaintences seem to think it's appropriate to constantly ask me and OH when we're going to get sterilised!

It's really beginning to grate my cheese tbh. We decided right from the start that we wanted a big family and although this baby will definarely be our last for quite a while I can't honesly say that it will be the last. Not to mention how I feel about being sterilised in the first place.

Where do people get off telling me in the middle of Iceland to get my tubes tied? Personally I find it's more of a reflection of themselvews. Like, they would never have a big family or kids so close together and can't imagine why we would so they just feel te need to spout off thoughless crap.

End rant lol

aww..given up have we...I make perfect sense..let me break it down for you..according to the law you have no right as a tax-payer to ask anyone about their living arrangements, contraception or children they bear...that is a fact...I know you don't like it..but thats what the government does 'for' you..you have no rights as a tax-payer...just keep paying..like I do..btw..thanks I wish you the same..sorry to disappoint Wink

Appletrees · 18/01/2011 00:52

actually my "you" to her was just shorthand.. the only assumptions I made are the ones I described...

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 00:59

about who?...they seemed very personal..until now

I didn't assume the op was on benefits, I guessed she might be.

I don't assume you're on benefits, I've gathered that you're rude and thus assumed you're badly brought up.

Clear enough?

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 01:02

Oh..so you just want to abuse us, but still have our money?

I'm assuming you're rude and badly brought up at this very moment. Do disabuse me of m misconception if you can...personal

Yes, that "you" was shorthand.

It did come after your fuck off, so really, you're being awfully sensitive considering.

Bye.

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 01:07

the presumption I was rude was based upon what could be said to you..not actually what i would say..but i understand this could be misconstrued..

Mumcentreplus · 18/01/2011 01:08

the fuck off was not personal Wink

Frog ou are the poster who is defending peoples rights to have large families. Look through your posts! i am not going to go through the drivel you have posted just to point them out to you. I am sure you are capable of doing that yourself.

I cannot see any posts where someone has jumped to the conclusion that the OP is on benefits. I can see posts which ask whether she is on benefits. Unfortunately the OP has not bothered to reply.

I have not ever said she is on benefits. I have only said (at the risk of repeating myself time and again) that anyone is entitled to have as many children as they want - provided they can financially support them.

I beleive you were the one to bring up tax credits and family allowance or whatever it may be called these days, as a means to suggest that EVERYONE is claiming benefits.

OMG can the OP answer the question already?? lol!! Grin

I'm really curious now! TBH, if I knew someone who supported thier family SOLELY of benefits and was aiming to have as many kids as possible, I would DAMN STRAIGHT ask them when they are getting thier tubes tied or whatever the procedure is and wouldn't give a tiny rats ass if they found it offensive. I didn't automatically assume the OP was on benefits because big family or Iceland shopper must mean benefit scrounger, it was more a "big family, that must be super expensive, wonder how OP can afford it? Well off or living off benefits" thought process that prompted me to want to know. I have no issue with people having large families as long as they dont ENTIRELY expect to be supported on benefits. I have no problem with benefits subsidising a household income (unless of course you genuinely can't work etc...), almost everyone pays taxes, we deserve something back.

So I guess in a way, I support people asking the question cos IMO the answer to OP's question lies in her answer to that question.
