They would look really nice with her outfit but I am old school and do not normally do high heels in kids.

What is the concensus now, will I face a barrage of disapproving looks from other mums if she wears them?

They are top row, second from left

No, I wouldn't , I detest high heels/grown up style shoes on little girls, i/e girls under about 12 !

she doesn't need a strappy heeled boot.

they're not even that nice.

sorry Smile

Sarsaparilllla · 13/01/2011 16:02

I don't like them at all, don't know about whether an 8 year old should wear them, I just don't like them

The ones below are much nicer, the metalic bar ones

megapixels · 13/01/2011 16:03

Same as above. They are pretty ugly.

ShatnersBassoon · 13/01/2011 16:04

No way. Too adult, and too ugly.

NormalityBites · 13/01/2011 16:04

Heels have ABSOLUTELY no place on an 8yo. No. YABU.

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 13/01/2011 16:05

Not my taste and I don't like the stilletto-ish one but the sparkly wedge ones would be ok with me for a one off

winnybella · 13/01/2011 16:05

No. I don't like them and I wouldn't want DD wearing high heels til she's much older. Ballet flats much better imo.

narkypuffin · 13/01/2011 16:05

I wouldn't let anyone wear those shoes. Especially not an 8 year old.

mutznutz · 13/01/2011 16:05

OMG no they're way to adult imo...almost sexy?

Hullygully · 13/01/2011 16:06

No.

Altho I probably would if she desperately wanted to as I am a Soft Touch.

LoopyLoopsIsNoLongerFestive · 13/01/2011 16:06

No, they are vile.

Plus the heel thing.

LadyOfTheManor · 13/01/2011 16:06

I think they're far too grown up and I'm not sure what the appeal is of dressing children as adults.

The second row, furthest on the right are ok for a disco I suppose!

What happened to patent leather Mary Janes? (she crones at her old age of 24).

Shodan · 13/01/2011 16:06

They're hideous anyway, but especially for an 8 yo.

JaxTellersOldLady · 13/01/2011 16:06

well I dont like those shoes, they are too old and actually pretty ugly. I am with sarsaparilllla the T bar glittery ones below are nicer and clearly for a young girl.

Sorry, I think they look ugly too. I'm with the majority on this, heels on children are icky. Flat shoes look lovely with dresses.

Helenastar · 13/01/2011 16:09

Not nice, I prefer the metallic T-Bar ones below or the metallic Ballet pumps.
isnt the wrong time of year to be wearing sandals also.

marriednotdead · 13/01/2011 16:09

I think that's a unanimous no.

Don't go there.

LetThereBeRock · 13/01/2011 16:09

Heels on a child? Absolutely not.

And they're hideous, and much too adult.

LadyOfTheManor · 13/01/2011 16:09

To answer your question about the "other mums", it depends on what kind of school she goes to...if you live in the equivalent of a US ghetto, then she's probably going to be the most under dressed....if you live in a decent area (hence a better school) she might be against traditional shoes.

Ephiny · 13/01/2011 16:10

No, don't like them anyway and don't think anyone should be wearing high heels until they're old enough to choose and pay for them themselves!

Surely you can still get nice (flat) party shoes for little girls? All of those look like adult's shoes scaled down to child size, which is not the same thing IMO...

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 13/01/2011 16:13

Ladyofthemanor- I miss my patent Mary janes..
:(

amazonchick · 13/01/2011 16:13

So is that a No then or just a maybe? Grin

I dislike them intensely but I presume the style is not what you want comment on.

I have a DD aged 7 who loves high heels too and though she doesn't have any with heels this high I am planning to buy her some so...

YANBU - this heel height is OK for occasional out of school wear (but I hate the style of the shoe).
