They would look really nice with her outfit but I am old school and do not normally do high heels in kids.

What is the concensus now, will I face a barrage of disapproving looks from other mums if she wears them?

They are top row, second from left

sorry but my mind is boggling as to what sort of outfit those shoes would look nice with.

narkypuffin · 13/01/2011 16:34

I was looking for the OP, but I want these

ChippingIn · 13/01/2011 16:37

Not a hope in hell.

None of them on that page.

coatgate · 13/01/2011 16:39

No Way! Cheap definitely. They are even called Caged Girls - why on earth would you want your DD to be associated with that notion?

Japers · 13/01/2011 16:39

There are nicer ones on that page, I wouldn't buy those coz they're horrible but I might buy some with a small heel if they were comfortable and she could easily walk/run/dance/skip etc in them.

I also have an 8 yr old DD and wouldn't say no small heels for a party.

ashamedandconfused · 13/01/2011 16:44

No way op, they are far too, well, slutty TBH - am picturing short leather skirt and tight halterneck top! Would not let my 11 yr old wear those!

DilysPrice · 13/01/2011 16:49

No, too high and too grown up in style - if I let my 8 year old wear heels (which I don't) they would be sparkly "dressing up" shoes, and besides, it's January. If she came to my party I would be a bit Hmm (and although I live in Inner City London, I haven't noticed any of DD's classmates wearing heels).
Does the Monsoon sale not have any sparkly party shoes left?

Eglu · 13/01/2011 16:51

ooh narkypuffin they are lovely and just the kind of thing I would expect an 8 year old to wear.

belgo · 13/01/2011 16:55

Ni I wouldn't. I also wouldn't buy the slip on shoes that Narkypuffin has linked to, as they do not look practical - they would get scuffed and slip off very quickly.

pointissima · 13/01/2011 16:56

Good Lord No! Slutty and unsuitable

LoopyLoopsIsNoLongerFestive · 13/01/2011 16:57

Magic steps, not secret garden, no?

charliesmommy · 13/01/2011 16:59

I used to do latin and ballroom dancing at that age and would wear specialist dance shoes with a 1" or 1.5" heel, and although the shoe in the link isnt that pretty, I wouldnt they were too high for a party at 8 yrs old. Certainly not suitable for everyday wear though.

charliesmommy · 13/01/2011 16:59

insert "think" between wouldnt and they pls...

chiefchef · 13/01/2011 16:59

Agree with all of the above - they are awful.

"They would look really nice with her outfit..."

I can't imagine what the outfit is....but please do us a link Smile.

TigerFeet · 13/01/2011 17:00

Sorry but no way

The heel is one issue but the general style of the shoe is fugly unsuitable for an 8yo imvho

my 6yo has plastic dressing up shoes with heels, anything she goes out of the front door will have a flat heel until she's 35 much, much older

she can walk in the heels though. which is more than i can manage Hmm

QuickLookBusy · 13/01/2011 17:04

No No NO!

8 year olds should not be in heels.

amazonchick · 13/01/2011 17:05

They are much nicer in RL, not same as in link but the closet I could find.

Gut instinct was telling me no but I was bowing to pressure.

No def secret Garden. I remember the advert for them...it was magical Grin that was 25 years ago and still remember them clearly.

brimfull · 13/01/2011 17:10

No an 8yr old would look ridiculous in those.

SecretNutellaFix · 13/01/2011 17:12

No. They look really nasty tbh. The heel looks really ridiculous for a child who should be free to run around having fun instead of wondering when she's going to turn her ankle over.

Thumbs down from here.

crisptart · 13/01/2011 17:21

No, they're way too adult looking, I think heels on young children look awful, sorry.

ENormaSnob · 13/01/2011 17:29

No.

I wouldn't let anyone wear those.

ivykaty44 · 13/01/2011 17:30

these instead though a colour would be better

silver

sparkly gold sequines

kelway · 13/01/2011 17:32

not a chance

MadreInglese · 13/01/2011 17:34

firstly - children in heels? UGH don't even get me STARTED!!

and secondly - why why why would you want to put pole dancer shoes on your child?

MadreInglese · 13/01/2011 17:35
