They would look really nice with her outfit but I am old school and do not normally do high heels in kids.

What is the concensus now, will I face a barrage of disapproving looks from other mums if she wears them?

They are top row, second from left

I didn't realise that sort of thing was still fashionable. They are nasty (although saying that, DD would probably give a kidney to own a pair)

narkypuffin · 13/01/2011 16:16

If you wait long enough you'll always find one...

Anonymousbird · 13/01/2011 16:16

Beyond awful.
At any age, but at 8, against the law!

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 13/01/2011 16:16

I'll add another no, just so there is no ambiguity opGrin

kittybuttoon · 13/01/2011 16:16

When I clicked on the link, the tab said 'cheap girls party shoes'.

They do look a little as if they are meant for 'cheap girls', imho. Sorry!

There are such pretty shoes around for 8 year-olds, so I wouldn't choose these ugly old clompers!

LadyOfTheManor · 13/01/2011 16:18

I had a pair of Mary Janes but I wasn't allowed the "cool" ones with the key in the sole. How I would've traded my siblings off for a pair of those.

I got Dr. Martin ones, which were no where near as cool. Still they last for about 5 years, so job well done!

TheCrackFox · 13/01/2011 16:19

They are all a bit granny on a night out. Would she really want to wear such fugly shoes.

amazonchick · 13/01/2011 16:20

I had a pair with the key in the soles.

They were called secret garden from what I can remember.

Going against most people here but if it was just as a one off and the DD really wanted to wear them I would let her TBH.

mutznutz · 13/01/2011 16:22

I can't believe anyone would want to buy their 7 or 8yr olds high heels. There's plenty of time for adult shoes when they're adults surely?

Imhotep · 13/01/2011 16:23

I also think 8 is a bit young to wear any kind of heel. And they are particularly ugly shoes! However, I agree that both (cheaper) pairs with the sequins (especially far right, bottom row) are really pretty for a party!

Ripeberry · 13/01/2011 16:24

Slut shoes!

ScotlandR · 13/01/2011 16:25

Those look an awful lot like stripper shoes.

The heel is not MASSIVELY too high for a one off, but the style is inappropriate.

SlowComfortableShrew · 13/01/2011 16:26

high heels on pre teens are horrible

LadyOfTheManor · 13/01/2011 16:26

Yeah Secret Garden from Clarkes.

Gosh I envy you.

IWillCountToThree · 13/01/2011 16:27

No. My dd (7) keeps asking for similar things, and i tell her that flats are better for growing feet and ballet pumps are very 'in'!

Not had any major strops yet!

I did see a little girl, about 3-4y, in a pair of red spotted heels recently. Lovely shoes but just wrong on a little girl.

LucyGoose · 13/01/2011 16:27

They look cheaply made and are too tarty looking for an 8 yr old. NO.

0karen · 13/01/2011 16:27

I do not see why not?

usualsuspect · 13/01/2011 16:27

I would for a party ,yes

DrNortherner · 13/01/2011 16:28

No, because they are vile.

activate · 13/01/2011 16:29

absolutely not

coldtits · 13/01/2011 16:31

No, they're too high and not practical. How is she supposed to run and jump and play in those?

BargainBasement · 13/01/2011 16:32

No.
Heels too high, style too adult. Just not children's shoes. And horrid.

bandgeek · 13/01/2011 16:32

I think she would struggle to walk in them properly!

I remember being desperate to wear heels, and when I was 13 my mum caved in and bought me a pair of platforms (this was way back when the Spice Girls were coll Grin) and I walked like Bambi for days!

I agree with the others who say the ones underneath with the T-bar are prettier.

DrNortherner · 13/01/2011 16:33

All those shoes are hugely offending me, they are a crime against style surely?
