to want my DDs shoes back?

DD, aged 13 months goes to nursery. Another child there has an identical pair of shoes, and when her Dad collected her mid afternoon he took my DDs shoes instead of his DDs.

This Dad/ Mum won't bring them back until the child is there again on Monday. It doesn't bother them apparently because they have another pair of shoes they can use.
They would have had time too as it was mid afternoon they were taken. They are going away for the weekend which is why they can't return them, but they have only gone to Grandparents, it's not like they were catching a plane. Hmm

In the meantime, my DD has to go without shoes.

I hope they are MN and read this.

Not Happy.

Are the shoes back - and labelled?

Are the theiving ill-mannered parents suitable chastised?

Has Purple's DP proposed?

Is there an onmibus edition on Sunday?

YANBU. Something as important as shoes should have been returned. How on earth do they think you're going to manage? Ridiculous imo!

dribbleface · 10/01/2011 20:38

Mixed up shoes = nursery nurse's nightmare - please label shoes. Yes every child had a named shoe hole but the little darlings like to post them at every opportunity! We have an ongoing shoe soap at the nursery at the moment, one pair of shoes that parents informs me are not theirs (wrong size), no one owning up/returning Hmm and of course its all the fault of the nursery nurses (even though none were labelled and at least 5 little girls have the pink ones from clarks!!) *not saying the OP blames the nursery just ranting.

and breathe!

katiestar · 10/01/2011 21:06

yanbu- Their mistake they should correct it ASAP.But actually the nursery is responsible foe looking after your DD's posessions so they should send someone over to collect them.

Blush Since DS2 was born he has always had at least 5 pairs of shoes. The most he had was when he was 4m old and he had 14 pairs Grin

Horton · 10/01/2011 21:36

Good god, you are nuts, LadyEvenstar! Or very rich. Or both.

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/01/2011 21:40

Horton, many pairs were given to me when he was tiny.
A couple of months ago I could get his shoes when my friends 6yr old DS grew out of his but they have the same size feet now Grin

My other friends DD who wears black shoes/boots/trainers is a size bigger than DS2 so I can get the odd pair of trainers she has outgrown.

Failing them 2 I buy in the sales Grin

Its not my fault I DS2 has a shoe fetish

I'm loving the OPs posts being high lighted so I can just scroll to the update. Shame there isn't one Grin.

This post has simply given my DH evil ideas about sparking mass debates whenever I leave the room and my laptop unattended... have visions of purplewednesday's DH chuckling slyly to himself at the huge controversy he seems to have caused.

countless · 11/01/2011 00:42

solo · 11/01/2011 15:34

No news yet? Hmm

jendifa · 11/01/2011 16:35

May have already been said, but ebay! My friend got each pair of her sons shoes from there (16 months old, no pairs worn much etc).

skydance · 11/01/2011 16:49

Come on purple, we need to know what happened.

I knew that was your DH with the grandparents post Grin

solo · 14/01/2011 10:37

It's been a whole week!!! maybe they've become good friends after all? Hmm
Please tell us the outcome Purple.

electra · 14/01/2011 10:43

YANBU - it's their responsibility to make sure they take the correct shoes home. Completely understandable that your dd only has one pair of shoes at 13 months! All I know is if I accidentally took the wrong shoes I would make a huge effort to return them right away.
