BNP on facebook......should be responsible for the photos on their page

Friend of mine on FB has requested that I report the BNP's facebook page for the most vile language and content. Which I have, I implore everyone to do the same. The photos are disgusting, pictures of dead or dying Africans/Afro-Caribbeans with captions like Funny looking N*er underneath.

It's shocking, you may be able to report it without looking at the photos.

Please report this page.

reported. I read a few of the comments, they really do attract the dregs of society. Nice to see some people on the page speaking up against it though.

TheFeministParent · 17/11/2010 08:47

I have reported every photo and comment....

sixpercenttruejedi · 17/11/2010 08:49

couldn't see how to report individual photos, I just reported the whole page.

thereistheball · 17/11/2010 08:53

Done. Those comments are disgusting.

TheFeministParent · 17/11/2010 08:53

You can flag comments.

OH my god been reporting comments and photos
holy shit. The hate people are willing to put their names to. With no shame.

theevildead2 · 17/11/2010 09:07

Wonder what daftpunk will have to say about it all.

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 17/11/2010 09:36

You have to say her name three times to make her appear.

TheFeministParent · 17/11/2010 09:37

Hmm.....It'll be interesting to see if she pays attention or buries her head in the clean white sand.

The older I become the more depressing the world is, I was blissfully ignorant that anyone actually thought like this...not until this minute but over the last few years. I have been very lucky to not have come across this stuff before. We need tough actions and prosecute people who write the sort of thing on these pages, perhaps then we'll start getting somewhere.

OK I am not a member of the BNP nor do I like their politics

HOWEVER

Instead of going off half cocked with indignation I have had a look

It is not the THE BNPs facebook page which is quite separate and belongs to (although we may not like it) a legal political party (for the moment).

If you scroll down the page of the one with the pictures you will see that it originated in AUSTRALIA.

It may very well have been started by a BNP member or it may have been started by someone wishing to cause trouble.

Either way if we all start shouting about banning THE BNPs facebook and it turns out that they have nothing to do with it, all we will get is even more publicity for the party and a chance for them to have a 'BNP vindicated' headline in the red tops

sixpercenttruejedi · 17/11/2010 10:12

re; the comments, Hmm that those opposed to racism think that hurling sexist and homophobic insults is the way to go.

mayorquimby · 17/11/2010 10:25

sorry is there a link? The page that came up in the search for me didn't have any photo's with racist comments etc. just the normal moronic shit that I'd expect from bnp. or have they all been taken down?

electra · 17/11/2010 10:27

Well, vile racism is vile racism whether the BNP put it up or not... Is there a link so I can report?

sixpercenttruejedi · 17/11/2010 10:29

they're still there

mayorquimby · 17/11/2010 10:34

that seems to be a rogue site though.
if you type in British National Party rather than bnp you get what appears to be a more official site with 57,000 followers rather than 1,000.
www.facebook.com/pages/BNP/190207722667?v=photos#!/pages/British-National-Party/71523830069

so in this case YABU as it would appear to have nothing to do with the BNP so I fail to see how they could be viewed as being responsible. YANBU to report this rogue site however and hopefully it will be taken down

Islandlady · 17/11/2010 10:38

mayor quimby thats what I said but the funny thing is that when I first went on it it said aus/us now it says english/us

So I assumed it originated in Australia
apologies to our Aussie MNs if that is not the case

TheFeministParent · 17/11/2010 10:42

All BNP has to do is report the page as fraudulent and it's gone.

OP posts:
chipmonkey · 17/11/2010 10:43

It's not the official BNP page but I have reported most of the photos.

mayorquimby · 17/11/2010 10:46

So now I would wonder how the posters who questioned how daft punk would respond to this will now respond having found out that the site is a fake and that she had no need to be questioned.

TheFeministParent · 17/11/2010 10:52

The supporters are real though aren't they? Not that dp should have to defend those vile scumbags.

OP posts:
theevildead2 · 17/11/2010 10:52

Actually MQ I'd still want to know what she thinks, the public persona of the BNP is that they are not racist, and always deny that their followers are.

Clearly when they are not reigned in the ideology of the BNP is pure nasty fucking racist hatred.
