I am so bloody mad! My Nan had a stroke last week, i went to see her today i thought telling the doctors who are looking after her that i have an hereditary thrombophilia, mutation that causes more blood clots, So i went to the nurses station.

The nurse said "hello can i help you?" i said "yes i would like to inform a doctor that i have a hereditary condition that causes blood clots, as my nan has just had a stroke

She sniggered at me!

Aibu to think she should be shot in the head for being such an idiot!!!!

No sorry i lost my cool, AIBU to think nurses should be professional and not laugh at people who are concerned for their relatives, especially when they are attempting to give them relevant medical background?!

Thank you withorwithoutyou, I was very upset yesterday and rose to bait i would normally brush off, i had so much to say in my op, and not enough fingers to type. never mind at least i know never to come here when i am actually upset about something.

gosh think you have had a v. raw deal on this thread, incredible, given both you and your gran have been seriously ill it's understandable you were wound up by this seeming rudeness.

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 21:45

tpodatc, i really would have just toyed with them normally, but yesterday after seeing my poor nan, i was just so mad, i couldn't! She was crying when i went and trying to say she loved me. I was frankly distraught yesterday.

Also love how i made a joke in my op, and have been slated for it! people really need to get a grip really!

I cant ask her, she probably wouldn't even remember as she speaks to so many people in a day. It doesnt matter, i probably got so upset about it as i was so upset already, normally i would have said to her "sorry have i missed something here?!" i will just let it go, there is no point getting upset about it any more.

"Idiot woman: -you know nothing about her or what she may have been doing for the previous 8 hours. I once spent 6 hours trying to rescusitate a woman who was bleeding to death. It was extremely stressful and sadly she died I then had to sit for an hour with her grieving family and then spent a further hour documenting every aspect of her care. After those 8 hours I finally sat at the nurses station and had a cuppa with other staff and we were giggling like 4 year olds over some absolute nonsense. We were letting off a bit of steam after what had been a hellish shift and do you what maybe if you had approached me at that point you would have thought I was unprofessional but I was professional and also human. Never judge someone on a snapshot.

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:09

I know more about her than you do though don't i! And if she were laughing when i got there it would have been a different story wouldn't it! i don't see your point.

So because you had a bad day at work once, i should expect to have some prick laugh in my face?!

OP posts:
notinthemoodfordancing · 21/10/2010 22:19

Well, im sorry to see this as I believe I am indeed the nurse you want to shoot in the head and have called a prick and other delightful abusive names.
To defend myself here as you have painted me to be an evil uncaring unprofessional idiot I certainly did not snigger at you, I actually sneezed I have the start of a cold feel dog rough and am still dedicated enough to look after people who's relatives are hell bent on slagging you off and making you look like a piece of dirt on a public forum. So yeah, thanks.

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:22

what do i look like then?

What hospital!

You are an idiot!

OP posts:
clemetteattlee · 21/10/2010 22:26

?? Why is she an idiot?

notinthemoodfordancing · 21/10/2010 22:26

Wow just keep on- you are making yourself look ever more charming, I may ACTUALLY be unable to stop myself laughing in your face next time.

SheWillBeLoved · 21/10/2010 22:29

You're going to be a midwife? You sound fucking horrid, sympathies to anybody in your care in the future. Honestly, calling a nurse who is caring for your grandmother a 'prick' and hinting she should be shot in the head on a public forum? Just lovely.

Perhaps when you have calmed down a bit, you could call the ward and voice your concerns more clearly to a different nurse/ward sister.

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:30

she is an idiot for pretending to be the nurse!

Come on you shat out! what hospital? come on clever dick? see if you can use psychic powers to guess!

Sukie1971 · 21/10/2010 22:30

This nurse... could she have had 3 years intensive training plus many years specialising in a speciality, and be working with doctors who have had at least 7 if not more years training, at the very junior level? Could she be working under a consultant who has been working extremely hard to specialise in that field?

Could your Grandmother be receiving the very best of NHS care, free at the point of delivery? Could the nurse be pissed off, yes PISSED OFF with people with only a modicum of medical knowledge thinking they know better than the doctors?

Do you really think in the treatment of your grandmothers condition they are disregarding your grandmothers symptoms and ignoring any signs?

Maybe you should consider that your grandmothers nurse is also responsible for 25 other patients, some of whom may be dying and alone? some of whom may be in pain?

I doubt she was sat on "her fat arse" doing nothing. No Nurse I know ever has time to do that. Nor the inclination.

I am totally and utterly FUCKED OFF with people who think nurses do nothing. Tell that to the family of the old man whose life I saved last night when I noticed his vital signs were deteriorating. Tell that to the granddaughter whose Grannys hand I held last week as she was dying while she raced down from the Midlands to be with her.

How VERY dare you!

and breathe Sukie!

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:31

SheWillBeLoved i beg your pardon! I have you been reading my posts do keep up dear!

OP posts:
clemetteattlee · 21/10/2010 22:32

I am a bit confused. What makes you think she is pretending? Why would she do that?

notinthemoodfordancing · 21/10/2010 22:33

You are vile, absolutley revolting. People like yourself should be banned from setting foot on a ward let alone delluding yourself you would ever be a good advocate for pregnant women and their babies. Mouth almighty know nothing.

cakewench · 21/10/2010 22:35

This thread has turned totally bizarre.

Also, Shock at some of the stories being told. That jaundice one was shocking.

OP, I'd suggest trying again with another nurse. And hopefully your nan will recover soon.

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:35

Dear Sukie1971 i suggest you do breath!

I think telling doctors vital information, that may change treatment all together is important actually!

I have just been in hospital myself being told how lucky i am to be alive, and being told how important it is to get my family checked for this mutation!

Ps she was on her fat arse eating at the station too! and might i say as myself and some of the girls have established i don't even know if she was a nurse!

So wind your neck in love!

OP posts:
Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:37

notinthemoodfordancing haaaaaaaaa you shat out!!!!!!!

OP posts:
notinthemoodfordancing · 21/10/2010 22:39

Shat out? And you wonder why people respond to you the way the do? For what its worth I was actually polite to you but if people DO laugh in your face I dont think anybody would be at all surprised- 'wind your neck in' you really do emulate Vicki Pollard in so many ways!!

SheWillBeLoved · 21/10/2010 22:40
Biscuit

Vile, vile woman. If notinthemoodfordancing is in fact the accused nurse, it's a shame it was just a sneeze like she said.

You don't even know if she was a nurse but will come on here calling this 'nurse' unprofessional, a fat arse, a prick? Ugh.

Theincrediblesulk1 · 21/10/2010 22:42

oh yes i myself an upper middle class woman emulating Vicki pollard! At least i don't pretend to be a nurse on a thread like a fucking psychopath! yes you shat out! what hospital? waaaaaaaaaaaaaa you don't know!

OP posts:
notinthemoodfordancing · 21/10/2010 22:44

I think its more obvious who is 'pretending' here with the gob on you claiming to be 'upper middle class'.I will be printing this thread off shortly anyway to show to the ward manager in the morning.

booooooooooyhoo · 21/10/2010 22:44

like a said what a rude OP. colours truly showing now.
