To think that MN seems to have had quite a lot of newbies over the past few days?

Is it just me?

Seem to have opened up a lot of threads where the poster is new to MN. Not that this is a problem of course - I think it's lovely. Though I am almost certain it has something to do with the massive amount of free advertising MN has had from the Netmums v Mumsnet battle Grin!

Do you think they have come over to the dark side then Pioneer?

NuttyElla · 25/08/2010 21:55

Maybe people have namechanged, I have been on here for a few years but changed my name yesterday so may appear new

Pioneer · 25/08/2010 21:58

No it is definitely new people because they've said "I am new", and yes Tippychooks, a few of them have said "Heard about it on Netmums, they said it was really nasty, but now I'm on here I like it"

Muhahahahaha.

Take that Netmums Grin.

Maybe it's that stage in the summer holidays when the boredom is starting to set in.

I've only been here about a month.

Pioneer · 25/08/2010 21:59

Ooh NuttyElla, are you going to reveal who your alter ego is?

OP posts:
NuttyElla · 25/08/2010 22:00

nooooo! fancy being anonymous for a while

LostArt · 25/08/2010 22:02

What nm v mn battle? I'm missing everything today - women and cat in a bin, baby Cameron ....

beccas · 25/08/2010 22:04

I'm not new, but don't post that often and when I do its because I want proper opinions and advice. Broaden my horizons. I've been on lots of different topics and generally found everyone to be really positive.
I tend to search old threads for advice.
BUT
I am amazed at the nastiness that appears, bitching is putting it mildly!

Pioneer · 25/08/2010 22:07

This is only a part of it LostArt.....see you next week when you've finished reading it!

How does everyone know everything about posters anyway (apart from the ones that tell you I mean Grin). I can never work out how to look at profiles.

NuttyElla, you're not the poster formerly known as.......Nutella are you???

Glitterknickaz · 25/08/2010 22:08

Is a bit odd.
BarmyArmy hasn't posted since Sun I think, same day Breton arrived...

lemoncurdyeomans · 25/08/2010 22:09

I change my name frequently but I've been on here fer ages. Mind you, I also go on Netmums, Grin.

Pioneer · 25/08/2010 22:11

I don't mean new names, I just mean people actually saying "I am new to Mumsnet, it's my first post and I'm moving here from Netmums

OP posts:
RonansMummy · 25/08/2010 22:14
