To think that MN seems to have had quite a lot of newbies over the past few days?

Is it just me?

Seem to have opened up a lot of threads where the poster is new to MN. Not that this is a problem of course - I think it's lovely. Though I am almost certain it has something to do with the massive amount of free advertising MN has had from the Netmums v Mumsnet battle Grin!

I'm new and blame it on the Summer hols - no groups etc happening to, take my 2 year-old to, so hop online when she's asleep, to avoid housework etc, etc. :)

Pioneer · 26/08/2010 18:20

genuine post:

"apparently someone at my old school called her daughter j-lo. i dont agree with making up your own spelling of a name but not having a go. as long as the child isnt called pippi longstocking or summat then call your kid whatever you like."

OP posts:
RonansMummy · 26/08/2010 18:27

how does she think j-lo is meant to be spelled?

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 18:29

lol wheres that from pioneer?!

MrsMadWriggle · 26/08/2010 18:30

thesecondcoming - after one having had my ariel removed by those little feckers in the monkey enclosure at Longleat, I think that's a fair question from the Netmummers (is that a word).

They can strip down a car in minutes -I remember them having a go at the plastic roof of one of those old style escorts when I was a kid. You don't want to mess with the monkeys. Grin

(I had a friend who once tried to take his new girlfriend to Longleat in his soft-top convertible and came back all Blush when they wouldn't let him in the enclosures with the cuddly lions)

MrsMadWriggle · 26/08/2010 18:30

aerial - sorry

puddlepuss · 26/08/2010 18:33

Bloody hell! Just had a look at netmums and got assaulted by a waving smile - wtf is that about? Mind you, it's cheaper than an acid hit....which is what you'd need to suffer a 'coffee house chat' about a fabulous trip to Turkey but disappointment at coming home to miserable weather.

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 18:34

stupid question but are we all women on here or are there a few men thrown in for good measure?! im asking because all the names are different on here, on netmums you have to use your first name so its obvious whose male and whose female lol

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 18:35

its very colourful over there puddlepuss, and yes there are alot of moving ads lol it never used to be that bright, it was quite dull last year, they revamped!

ROFL at the monkey knocking one out on the bonnet. Grin

dingdongmrs - yes there are blokes around. Some of them have bloke nicknames, others less obvious. You'd remember JasonThunderpants if you'd come across him.

tholeon · 26/08/2010 19:29

I'm new. I am becoming horribly addicted. Though the straight talking takes a bit of getting used to. I do think there is a bit of snobbery going on...but intellectual snobbery rather than vulgar money snobbery... and I kinda like it...

tholeon · 26/08/2010 19:30

and as for the hot lesbo sex action on one of the other threads...well that has totally sold it to me...

I bet they wouldn't put a wanking monkey post on NM.

Pioneer · 26/08/2010 21:12

They might have a smiley for it though.

An animated one

seaturtle · 26/08/2010 21:59

Now look what you made me do. I had a look at NM and peeked into a fetish thread! See, on here you can write about your fetishes and remain anonymous. Over there it's a bit distracting (and weird) looking at your kids' faces on their tickers while reading about your sexual practices....

I saw that too seaturtle...very disturbing - especially the ones who are into vampire fetishes and asking where the best place is to buy fangs....

Yes, thesecondcoming, lets all make tickers and talk about it!

The OP (on NM) had her photo on there too. Helps us imagine her with fangs.

puddlepuss · 27/08/2010 08:49

dingdongmrs · 27/08/2010 09:32
