To think that MN seems to have had quite a lot of newbies over the past few days?

Is it just me?

Seem to have opened up a lot of threads where the poster is new to MN. Not that this is a problem of course - I think it's lovely. Though I am almost certain it has something to do with the massive amount of free advertising MN has had from the Netmums v Mumsnet battle Grin!

I think I registered on NM ages ago but was repelled by the lack of intelligence amount of tripe on there

Harryan · 26/08/2010 17:43

Welome dingdongmrs!!

Slice of cake? :)

fluffywhitekittens · 26/08/2010 17:45

I'm fairly new, haven't posted a lot here but have found myself visiting more often recently.
I use nms as well and although there are a lot of huns and text speak there are also some lovely, intelligent, helpful people there.
But I have developed a bit of an addiction towards AIBU here now I've got the hang of the site!

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 17:46

Thank you Harryan, i love cake! :o

AlCrowley · 26/08/2010 17:49

I don't understand why everyone says MN is harder to navigate. I went over for a look round and can't work it out at all! Confused

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 17:54

i guess its what your used to. im used to nm's so here is quite different to work out lol but im getting there!

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 17:57

im also trying to get used to not saying hun! and putting kisses and all then im also trying to work out what kind of thing is the norm here like 'lol' ect. oh and getting used to be able to swear is quite fun! theres quite a few rules on netmums which have been hammered into me now, i have to untame myself lol

RonansMummy · 26/08/2010 18:00

I like the straight talking on here, i'd never heard of netmums before I saw it on MN! I went to look at netmums but like dingdong said its got a very different layout so I came straight back here :-)

poshwellies · 26/08/2010 18:01

Oh no she has been brainwashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shock

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 18:09

i do call everyone hun on netmums, i think its because everyone does, it just turns into habit more than anything. i call my husband hun and he tells me off saying "im not a netmum" lol, so yes i think we do do it too much!!

its ok though cos in a few hours/days i will be like you lot lol

dingdongmrs · 26/08/2010 18:10

PMSL at "I'm not a Netmum" from Dingdong's DH. Newb here as well. I only got preggles recently so needed some sensible support. I hadn't heard of Netmum before the silliness. Looked at it, all the colour scared me.
