dh just tweeted these vile t shirts (in ourtraged horror, not amusement)

www.jamrags.com/viewDetail.php?proid=79&color=Black

www.jamrags.com/viewDetail.php?proid=70&color=Navy

and yes, they're meant to be offensive. but as a humourless feminist and proud of it i think we should object. strongly.

but how!?

rainbowinthesky · 17/08/2010 09:35

They are beyond awful. Seen some of the other t shirts - surely the racist ones are illegal.

bottyburpthebarbarian · 17/08/2010 09:37

how foul and unpleasant.

ChocolateMoose · 17/08/2010 09:40

"It's not rape if you shout SURPRISE!"

Lovely dear, just lovely. Your mother would be proud. (looks for vomit emoticon)

theskiinggardener · 17/08/2010 09:41

I assume there are people out there who buy this crap. Poor people.

sanielle · 17/08/2010 09:41

Lovely. This one of those t-shirts when I see the guy out I think .."hmm and you're alone? Big suprise." Although every once n a while they do actually have a lil woman out with them..and I can't help but think they are pathtic for going out anywhere with a man in something like that.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 17/08/2010 09:42

They are useful in one way..to identify people who wear them as complete twunts, to laugh at, from afar!

gorionine · 17/08/2010 09:43

OMG this is really foul, every single one of them!

loopyloops · 17/08/2010 09:43

The whole website is just awful. :(

Shock
StealthPolarBear · 17/08/2010 09:47

i assume these are meant to be ironic, but racism or DV 'jokes' are still vile even when sugar coated in irony
or aren't they? am i being naive?

loopyloops · 17/08/2010 09:48

What to do? I'm pretty sure at least some of these are illegal.
eg. "I'm not racist. racism is a crime & crime is for black people"

police? trading standards?

Flossbert · 17/08/2010 09:49

WTF? Putrid toss.

gagamama · 17/08/2010 09:50

This one has actually made me feel physically sick. The implication being, I assume, that the person pictured is standing outside a school ready to abuse them on the way home? Hilarious.

Absolutely vile.

deemented · 17/08/2010 09:50

'Calm down dear, let's not turn this rape into a murder'

Shocking. Absolutely fucking awful. How the hell are they allowed to sell this shite?

Hassled · 17/08/2010 09:51

Would it stand as "incitement of racial hatred"? Bloody hell - words fail me.

bintofbohemia · 17/08/2010 09:51

Tis called jamrags for starters.

BootyMum · 17/08/2010 09:55

Not even slightly amusing or ironic... Just sad and sick. I agree with fanjo, I feel most sorry for anyone who chooses to wear one, surely it marks them out as low class, mentally challenged, strange individuals? I am truly amazed that anyone would choose to wear one.

loopyloops · 17/08/2010 09:58

OK, we're all riled, but what can we do?

it's dreadful! yes, what to do?

Alouiseg · 17/08/2010 10:02

Some of them are very funny, some are in appallingly bad taste, some are bordering on illegal.

Mumsnet can't rush along and tell everything off for us! It's not our Mummy!

If you don't like them why are you giving them so much publicity??

schoolpanic · 17/08/2010 10:06

yes a bit 'outraged of tunbride wells' but fuck it, i am outraged and it's not on. yes, you've got to be pathetic and foolish to wear one but the racist ones are truly offensive as are the sexist ones and i don't think it's on. they have a right to be tossers, i have a right to object, strongly.

if nothing else, these things would be in plain view on the street. you couldn't put a racist poster up or hand a leaflet out...what's the difference?!

OP posts:
Morloth · 17/08/2010 10:09

Fucking hell. Still I suppose they could work a bit like a scarlet letter.

If you see someone wearing one you know exactly what sort of person they are and can refuse to have anything to do with them.

Makes it easier for the rest of us to spot the dickheads.

FindingMyMojo · 17/08/2010 10:09

idiots - ignore them and they'll go broke!
