dh just tweeted these vile t shirts (in ourtraged horror, not amusement)

www.jamrags.com/viewDetail.php?proid=79&color=Black

www.jamrags.com/viewDetail.php?proid=70&color=Navy

and yes, they're meant to be offensive. but as a humourless feminist and proud of it i think we should object. strongly.

but how!?

Hang on, I'm challenging the view that precious little whinyarses should be allowed to shut down other people's freedom of expression. You can go 'Boohoo what howwid t-shirts' all you like, but actually trying to put a company out of business because it offends you is not behaviour that should be encouraged.

zazen · 20/08/2010 22:21

I think incitement to hatred, or racism isn't freedom of expression actually SGB. It's illegal.

NetworkGuy · 21/08/2010 16:01

So, on a different level of 'anti-social' behaviour, perhaps you would like to explain how you would tackle a (hypothetical) business, SGB, on your doorstep, which was proven to be supplying thumbscrews, metal-spiked masks, and other instruments of torture, to various foreign security services.

Just because it 'offended some views on human rights' would you still defend the business and attack any (your words) 'whinyarses' who demonstrated for its closure, because you felt that putting a company out of business was unjustified ?

(I could have used a firm dealing with vivisection of animals, as a half-way house to torture of humans, but decided to jump straight to an indefensible trade in one go.)

You had better submit them one per month to be in with a chance of winning a hundred quid :)

Unfortunately, they might even consider (2) and (4) as money spinners! The other two are too serious in message for them...

I loved how much bias they had in giving anyone with a great idea a single T-Shirt in return for them getting all profits no matter how many were sold. Not a great incentive, IMO.

SolidGoldBrass · 22/08/2010 13:27

NetworkGuy: You're still in whinyarse corner. There is a difference between using acutal implements of torture on someone, and wearing a t-shirt with a rude word on it.
