See photo (BBC) but they’ve got coverage from various people in positions of power.

“Let me be clear: This is not Ukraine’s fault,” Mr. Stoltenberg said. “Russia bears ultimate responsibility as it continues its illegal war against Ukraine.”

Zuno · 16/11/2022 14:07

There’s a difference between fault and who fired the missile - and you accuse others of being misleading.

we all know Russia caused the war - but it is now looking likely the deaths in Poland were due to a missile fired by Ukraine (and was accidental).

Zuno · 16/11/2022 14:09

Sorry fault of the war

Zuno · 16/11/2022 14:11

I tell you what it’s a bloody good job that internet usage comes into security clearance checks to avoid some of the people on this thread ever getting a chance to “be head of NATO”

Thankfully they wouldn’t stand a chance.

ganachee · 16/11/2022 14:28

I read an article the other day by a U.K. Professor of War Studies - of course this is his opinion and other experts in the field may have different ones - but he believes Putin will not really want to negotiate as he knows he is at risk of being overthrown should the war now end which has gone much worse for Russia than expected. The Professor said Putin annexing the four oblasts - even though Russia hasn’t even occupied all those oblasts territory and now has retreated from Kherson - in September was a bad move as if he now gives up some of them in negotiations it will look bad for him. He believes he will drag it out and if there is military defeat then he will try and shift the blame on the Russian military.

That's already underway the retreat from Kherson he was nowhere to be seen. The state of these fuckers is true James Bond villains.

Regarding them now saying the missile was probably Ukrainian, even if there is a slight chance they know it was actually Russian - and it may well not be - but they are not saying this, I am v glad they would do this as NATO really must not get directly involved.

ganachee · 16/11/2022 14:33

@vera99, thanks for sharing that.

Not a single penny of our taxes should be spent on Zelenskiy after his attempts to trigger ww3. Let America and Ukraines neighbours support them. No need for us to be involved

No one is "spending their money on zelensky" he's one man. You're fine with Russia raping and pillaging across ukraine to spite one man speaking too quickly? Ww3 would not have started on the say so of zelensky alone, so it's neither here nor there.

Speak for yourself

I'm happy that UK is honouring the security assurances and helping Ukraine - which is more than one man - fight back against their cruel, inhumane, mediaeval neighbours.

Every now and then we see this! A post will pop in from nowhere not relating to the thread telling us not to waste money on the Ukrainian leader.

The obsession with Zelensky is a Russian one. They hold him accountable for their failure because he is full of charisma and has the true ability to lead from the front, he is loved and admired all over the world. And the Russians have to put up with a mentally incapacitated elderly leader whom has failing health and judgement and seems hell bent on finishing Russia off for good.

We are pouring money to save Ukraine from the savages and monsters of Russia, that torture the innocent, and rape grannies and are entirely without a single bone of decency.

This country will always stand by Ukraine.

I agree, and it was Putin, not Zelensky, who is risking WW3. The US is not sending military and financial assistance to Zelensky, they are sending it to Ukraine. Zelensky has no mega yachts that I'm aware of.

workiskillingme · 16/11/2022 15:00

@Venetiaparties your last post is the only one I have seen and thought yep nailed it

Zuno · 16/11/2022 15:00

Venetia - you seem to be getting a little moodier now - don’t like being reminded of all the “statements and assurances” you were so clear on yesterday?

Zuno · 16/11/2022 15:02

Venetia wants us to go to war - i would read all their posts in this thread.

They also think this is “our” war - seems they don’t think Ukraine can operate without the UK and that the counties are joined at the hip. Quite insulting to Ukraine.

Zelensky will go down in history as one of the most courageous, greatest leaders of all time, however this ends.

And far from being corrupted by money he has actually worn the same tshirt for nine months more or less with laser like focus on saving his country.

I admire the man hugely and Ukraine have much to thank him for. I will never forget this moment:

Just fed up of almost my entire life the UK being involved in military conflicts as Americas lap dog. Wasting billions. We get nothing back from the US for going along with their warmongering. We should be supporting in a much more limited way like most of Europe and Ukraines immediate neighbours

She's pissed off because all that work on the nuclear bunker at the bottom of the garden she started digging yesterday was a waste of time. Not to mention all those long posts telling is how 'very very serious' this was.

Zuno · 16/11/2022 15:11

Spot on MrsDanvers.

Goldenbear · 16/11/2022 15:12

If you look at countries financial contributions relative to their GDP, I think Latvia tops the charts, not the US and not the British 'lapdog'!

Zuno · 16/11/2022 15:12

Venetia - I would stop making predictions and assertions on this thread given your track record of getting things wrong recently.

Venetiaparties · 16/11/2022 15:13

That great moment when Zelensky said to the US:

'I need anti tank ammo, not a ride'

Back when we all feared Russia was going to pulverise Ukraine and Zelensky had just hours to live. It is thanks to this bravery and solidarity that Ukraine went onto receive such huge worldwide support.

Zelensky is a hero through and through, and other leaders have much to learn from his integrity and I am an ardent feminist and my compliments of men generally can be very thin on the ground.

So that is why I will be waiting for his statement before I draw any conclusion about the bomb yesterday. I am noting still no word from Ukraine...which speaks volumes.
