Putin could have attacked Poland months ago - he hasn't.

There's no reason why he would do so now when he's facing losses in Ukraine. He's unhinged, clearly, but he isn't likely to want to aggravate NATO at the moment given how many losses he has faced recently.

What better than to fling the largest volley of missile strikes during the G20 to convey that notion and have one missile lose guidance and crash into Poland.

Brilliant.

No, we don't. But we do have to uphold it, if Poland decides they invoke it. Such treaties are meaningless if people keep moving the red lines, which is precisely why the US, for example, has very wishy washy ones for nuclear deterrence.

There has been no official statement, from Poland, Nato, or Nato allies. Ukraine have denied it was them, Russia have denied it was them. But no one that is either of those countries has said who it actually was.

I think that he has read it.
I think that he knows that the traditional west has NO loyalty whatsoever to Poland.

I think that he knows that we're weakened by our own sanctions on Russia.

Yeah with Russia you just have to look at the opposite of what they said. Eg

“We are not going to invade Ukraine” = we are about to invade Ukraine.

“Conscripts will not fight” = conscripts are already on the front line

“We are here to de-Nazify Ukraine” = we are here to brainwash kids, rape grannies and install torturers

“There is no war” = we need general mobilisation for this war

“Kherson is Russia forever” = we are about to retreat from Kherson

”We did not bomb Poland” = We bombed Poland

”This is a Nato provocation” = This is a Russian provocation

On the bright side they’re barking mad and you can’t actually win a war if you’re barking mad, so that’s something.

The timing was too succinct chiming with the world leaders convening and Russia leaving earlier today.

I don't think they will trigger article 5 but the NATO borders need to be heavily armed. A show of force.
