Sprogger - I share your dream

Interesting thread . My first thought on seeing the picture was not actually about the hair, but at the lovely unsaggy breasts. I'm a 'trim the edges if I'm going to be wearing a swimming costume' kind of person, tbh. But I do keep my underarms at least trimmed, if not completely shaved, even if they're not going to be on show . So I'm a bit inconsistent, but I think it's because I feel deodorant will work better on hairless underarms.

tumtumtetum · 18/01/2009 21:46

I must admit I would be far more embarassed going for a smear with a brazilian than fully haired

Penthesileia · 18/01/2009 21:46

Origin of the world.

VanillaPumpkin · 18/01/2009 21:47

Ah, now I do shave my armpits. But think this is a deodourant issue as well as the fact it takes 30 seconds in the shower.

Cloudhopper · 18/01/2009 21:48

I think she looks great. When you look at celebs trying not to age, it is easy to forget how fabulously good looking they started out.

My beaver looks just like that, in fact probably more so.

I only once went for a wax in that region, and the beautician commented "You can trim it, you know". I had no idea people went to all that bother for something that is never seen in public.

For Christ's sake, if dh was put off by THAT, what would he make of my stretch marks .

God I am making myself sound attractive, aren't I?

RiaParkinson · 18/01/2009 21:48

slightly off subject but in my mind a man that finds a natural woman sexy is a far sexier being than one who likes the trimmed plastic version

If a man told me he preferred women to shave, I would despise him.

RiaParkinson · 18/01/2009 21:52

ii have friends who keep it tiny or hardly there because their man 'likes it' boak double boak

how unsexy is he!

FrayedKnot · 18/01/2009 21:52

If you ever get the opportunity to look at a porn mag from the late 70's early 80's you will see that most of the women look like that - normal and natural

Don;t ask me how I know

tumtumtetum · 18/01/2009 21:52

The thing is I think most men understand that the women in porn are women in porn and that women in real life are not like that. Real life women don't decide to have sex with 6 different men all at once, they don't suddenly turn lesbian at the drop of a hat and they don't wax themselves to within an inch of their lives (well some of them do but you get my drift).

I think it's women who put these pressures on each other (as we have seen on this thread).

nkf · 18/01/2009 21:53

And if some nurse made a comment, I'd made a complaint. Very unprofessional.

bollockbrain · 18/01/2009 21:54

lol frayed

dont think anyone on this thread has spoken of completely shaving it off to look childlike.

Trimming, shaving the edges and waxing strays i think has been more the discussion.

well that is me certainly, just dont like the feeling of anything poking aout around the edges of my knickers.

tumtumtetum · 18/01/2009 21:55

I really don't believe that the average nurse has the time, energy or interest to go around commenting on patient's pubes.

pamplemousse · 18/01/2009 21:55

Hurrah for edam!
I agree

SeymourButz · 18/01/2009 21:56

this is her too they say

McBolshy · 18/01/2009 21:56

Hooray for the hairy! I don't even bother to trim the bits that stick out of my swimming costume - I just bought a cozzie with legs. I think it's appalling how much women allow themselves to be influenced by fashions in the porn industry. Truly sad.

Molesworth · 18/01/2009 21:57

"I think it's women who put these pressures on each other (as we have seen on this thread)."

I don't think so

twentypence · 18/01/2009 21:58

She could wear a bikini with that. Although she would probably do well not to pull her legs up like that.

It looks normal to me.

Cloudhopper · 18/01/2009 22:00

I'm sure nurses have more to worry about than the rich variety of the human race. You must lose interest after seeing your first 100, surely?

I can honestly say that I had a lot more on my mind during labour than whether anyone was laughing at my private bits!

In fact I would have been chuffed if they even noticed.

tumtumtetum · 18/01/2009 22:01

Why the ?

Many women on this thread have said that it's gross/unpleasant etc etc for women not to groom their pubes. That puts pressure on other women to conform.

tumtumtetum · 18/01/2009 22:02

Sorry that was a response to molesworth.

Heathcliffscathy · 18/01/2009 22:04

cor edam yes. go for the jugular. there is a strange juxtaposition between, hair free, Bratz and paedophilia hysteria.

we are living in some fucked up times where it is just no ok to be a natural woman. or man for that matter.

i guess that is what happens when you live in a society so dislocated. so entirely devoted to consumerism. and so depleted of spiritual, intellectual and moral sustenance.

did i go off on one? i think i might have...

Molesworth · 18/01/2009 22:04

I'm saying that it isn't women's fault, tum. You seemed to suggest that it was.
