molesworth i know what you mean but in fact women are the MOST incensed by seeing another woman with unshaved armpits (ask all the blokes that fancied neneh of 99 red balloons fame).

the subjugated become the most policing of the heretical.

Sidge · 18/01/2009 22:08

Looks pretty normal to me and I've seen more fannies than you've had hot dinners. (Professionally not personally)

I only trim mine so I don't get accused of smuggling spiders - can't be doing with the idea that grown women's vulvas are supposed to resemble an 8 year olds.

tumtumtetum · 18/01/2009 22:10

what sophable said - so much better than i could've put it.

Women do put enormous pressure on each other to conform - ditto makeup, getting hair done, dressing nicely blah blah blah. Women who step outside of what is considered the norm are lambasted - most harshly by other women.

Molesworth · 18/01/2009 22:10

I agree soph, but I find it difficult to hear a woman blaming other women for perpetuating the ridiculous notion that muffs are gross. Ultimately that idea is not one that any woman came up with.

But this very thread was started to perpetuate the ridiculous notion that muffs are gross!

LittleBella · 18/01/2009 22:13

She really was very beautiful wasn't she?

Remember the fuss when Julia Roberts bared her pits? here

pushchair · 18/01/2009 22:14

Hurray for all those defending natural pubes!
Looks entirely normal and just like me! fabulous

siriusmewsaysochayethenoo · 18/01/2009 22:20

What abou unshaven legs? Ican only do mine once every fortnight or something as i have really sensitive skin and it goes al funny and spotty and sore. Can't wax either 'cause of the same and electrolysis is out of the question (£££££££s). Everyone says its gross which is quite hurtful and I've got really nice legs aprt from being hairyer(SP?) than dp!

AnyFucker · 18/01/2009 22:21

Madonna was very beautiful, just as nature provided, truly a woman just as she should be

She could still be very beautiful if she just relaxed a bit, but thats a whole other thread......

pamplemousse · 18/01/2009 22:21

I do think its other women to some extent. When Julia Roberts didn't shave her armpits it was all over Heat and all those magazines - who buys those?
I think some blokes do mind hairiness, just like some women can't stand a hairy back on a man.
Most men I have met, and I don't think I meet abnormally tolerant men, couldn't care less, they might appreciate a floaty summers dress being accompanied by naked armpits, but otherwise whats the fuss is what I have been told..... surely I am not alone in this?

Aitch · 18/01/2009 22:22

her tits are AMAZING, she looks lovely. any yyy to soph, edam, harpsi et al. and of course to bookthief, who rightly asked who can be arsed. i don't think i'd want a dh whose view of women's beauty was so informed by porn, tbh.

JackieNo · 18/01/2009 22:23

Hmm - legs are an awkward one, aren't they. Have to say, mine are quite un-hairy, so I mostly get away with not having to shave them, but I suspect I would shave if I felt I needed to.

beanieb · 18/01/2009 22:23

Ah the good old days before people became obsessed with hair removal!

siriusmewsaysochayethenoo · 18/01/2009 22:28

Thank god it's so cold at the moment then!!

Megglevache · 18/01/2009 22:31

My dh prefers a bit of grass on the pitch. It's a lovely photo though. Funny how she has hardly any at the sides. I wish I was that lucky

I bet she is so mortified that photo is available for public consumption now. I'm sure to her it's as embarrassing as looking at dodgy perm pictures form the 80's!

Anyone noticed (in zoom mode) that the rug she is sitting on it actually made of pubes?

KM almosy hairless is the norm so I guess it's expected.

LittleBella · 18/01/2009 22:43

I think that porn is now so ubiquitous, and the porn look is so ubiquitous, that there is indeed a generation of young men growing up who prefer women to look hairless, like children.

Men who like women with normal hair, are catered for as if they are some kind of mad fetishists, as the norm is those who like hairless.

edam · 18/01/2009 22:44

Oh, thank heavens this thread has taken a turn for the better. Thought for one horrible moment there I'd stumbled into some bizarre world where the porn aesthetic was now compulsory for every woman...

As for falling over in a skirt, isn't that the point of knickers? (I do NOT do thongs - flaming uncomfortable.)

Feel rather chuffed at all these people agreeing with me, don't think I've ever managed that before in 5.5 years on MN.
