I am in awe of all these people who have met loads of celebrities and have interesting stories to post about.

It got me thinking.......the closest I have ever got was when I was young Tilda Swinton's mum & dad used to let me ride on their estate and one day I patted Tilda's old pony.

And that's it!!

Anyone else got equally tenous sleb stories (and yes I am very bored....)?

erm..scraping barrel now but...

I sat next to Michael Aspel in a restaurant once (he did not have his red book with him but was with a unidentified non-wife female) (in Surrey)

Cliff Richards walked past me once (also in SUrrey)

One of our secretaries stood behind Jarvis Cocker in the newsagents (back in the homeland)

I have, on many occasions, drank in the pub part owned by various members of Pulp (but who hasn't?)

I met thingy off of Hollyoaks and 2 pints at the V festival in '99 (curly haired bint)

I've had Christmas Dinner at Jimmy Nail's Mum's house and his sister was at my parents wedding.
A friend from school babysat for Alan Shearer.
My Mum used to work with Gordon Brown's SIL.

DonDons · 13/10/2008 20:22

oh yeah, and my mate's mum used to babysit for Jarvis when he was about 11

muggglewump · 13/10/2008 20:24

Oh just remembererd, I met Reef when I was at Uni and their support band stayed at my house.

sadbarratthomeowner · 13/10/2008 20:26

My best friend at uni went out once with Lembit Opik

RustyBear · 13/10/2008 20:34

bythepowerofgreyskull - no, not my sister!
But we went to stay with them once at Easter & saw some Ferrero Rocher eggs at the airport & thought it'd be fun to get one each for the family.
BIL seized on them with glee & spent about an hour trying to build a pyramid with the choccies.
It is actually not possible to build a pyramid like the one in that clip with Ferrero Rocher without cheating & sticking the bottom ones together.
Insight into the home life of an ambassador

(Actually if you ever saw Adrian Chiles TV series 'So what do you do all day', one of them was about an ambassador.
Guess who.....)

wuglet · 13/10/2008 20:38

My brother's ex-girlfriend was the SIL of Brett Lee (cricketer)

My DH mums cousin is Matt Allwrights mum.

I have been to the house of someone who used to live next door to Declan Donnelly.

Am surprised have not been approached by the tabloids yet to sell my stories regarding the above!

Kbear · 13/10/2008 20:45

My aunt kissed ELVIS PRESLEY. I win.

lal123 · 13/10/2008 20:50

a friend of my DPs put up Oasis in his flat when they were just starting out.

Oh - and I've given Desmond Tutu a cup of tea

georgimama · 13/10/2008 20:50

My mum once saw Henry Cooper in Clacton on Sea and had to turn on her heel and walk away because she didn't trust herself not to grope him (that was in the late 1960s).

A few years ago DH took her to a charity lunch at which he was the speaker, DH introduced them and he was lovely to her.

FuriousGeorge · 13/10/2008 20:52

Dh works with a lady who used to work on Timeteam. She said that one of the archeologists has really bad B.O.The other is a nudist.Same lady used to be babysat by the lead singer of Deacon Blue.

DH has also just announced that he was smiled at by Elle Mcpherson in Sydney. He never told ME that before now!

Sadly,I actually do know some slebs, but due to the fact that we live in a very easily identifiable and very small area,I am reluctant to say who & where they are.Anyway, this is more fun.

georgimama · 13/10/2008 20:53

fishie · 13/10/2008 20:54

DonDons · 13/10/2008 20:56

My friend's friend used to be the continuity person on Hollyoaks

CandleQueen · 13/10/2008 20:59

I went to school with Paul McCartney's son.

And I sold Neil Tennant a flannel and a cream tea in the same weekend. (Saturday job in Boots, Sunday job in chi-chi tea room)

Also sold Vic Reeves a hot water bottle, Janet Street-Porter a toothbrush, and Emilia Fox an apple.

DSDs god father is in a famous band.

I went to college with Patrick Mower's son.

I held Gary Lineker's jacket.

I helped Ernie Wise into a Santa outfit.

I worked with someone out of Chumbawamba's dad.

I walked past Peter Andre in town the other day (he looked like he was on his way to Lidl).

Pat Phoenix (her out of Corrie, now dead) owned a painting of one of our bedrooms when my mum and dad owned a b&b in the 70s/80s. Not sure why...

CandleQueen · 13/10/2008 21:19

HRHSaintMamazon · 13/10/2008 21:25

Ewe · 13/10/2008 21:33

A relative of mine is going out with Summer Strallen of Hollyoaks/Sound Of Music fame and one of my good friends is also in SoM.

One of my good friends from ante-natal is the daughter of an incredibly famous rock star who I'm not going to name.

An ex boyfriend of mine lives next to (by next to I mean about 300 acres away) Ringo Starr.

That's about all I have right now!

HellboundNinkynork · 13/10/2008 23:43

Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode stole my best friend's mum's garden gnomes.
