What's you best, really tenuous link to a sleb?

I am in awe of all these people who have met loads of celebrities and have interesting stories to post about.

It got me thinking.......the closest I have ever got was when I was young Tilda Swinton's mum & dad used to let me ride on their estate and one day I patted Tilda's old pony.

And that's it!!

Anyone else got equally tenous sleb stories (and yes I am very bored....)?

I had lunch with MrsJC a couple of weeks ago and Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen once came to dinner at her house - but she wasn't there

Ninedragons: My best friend's mother went to Art college WITH JOHN LENNON

I once picked up David Seaman's pen when he dropped it at Heathrow. This was after a flight where the England squad were in Premium Economy and I was in Business. Chuckle.

arfishy · 14/10/2008 02:22

Why did Lawrence LB go to MrsJC's house when she wasn't there?

ghosty · 14/10/2008 02:23

I am friends with Superloopy (been to her house and everything) and she has met Posh Spice and loads of other slebs.

ghosty · 14/10/2008 02:25

I used to teach at the school where Davina Macoll (sp) 's children go. But I left before they got there.

ghosty · 14/10/2008 02:26

lol
my sister was school friends with LLB's wife (they have been together for aaaaaages)

they came to dinner at my parents' house - they'd taken me off on holiday somewhere and my sister was housesitting and they came round to dinner

I failed to recognise David Attenborough but sold him a Daniel Barneboim tango album

My FIL went on a date with Anna Ford at university.

Have you been watching To the manor Bowen on UKTV? I've stumbled across it a few times and they seem great fun.

ninedragons · 14/10/2008 07:24

Ghosty's all sound like that dinner party game where you say a statement and everyone has to guess whether it's a lie or the truth. Particularly the postage stamp ancestor.

corriolliss · 14/10/2008 07:29

i met the queen

liath · 14/10/2008 07:36

Am loving all these .

I just remembered that when I was pregnant I went to the same maternity clothes shop as JK Rowling and picked the same maternity jumper as her. Or so the over-excited shop assistant told me, anyway.

A few weeks later I was wearing the jumper whilst out buying lunch and a middle-aged lady rushed up to me and said "Do you know, JK Rowling has the exact same jumper as you??"

Bizarre.

My uncle worked in the same place as Roger Grgreaves, and he used to do little drawings of the Mr Men at work before they were published!!

compo · 14/10/2008 07:37

Hargreaves or whatever his surname is

liath · 14/10/2008 07:37

Ooh, and in primary 1 I was best friends with the Queen's press secretary's daughter.

Hooray, a sleb thread I can contribute to

I babysat for Minette Walters once.

When I was 10 I was friends with a girl who knew Charlotte Coleman when she was in Wurzel Gummidge.

I was once in the same train compartment as Ian McGaskill.

daizydoo · 14/10/2008 08:18

My teacher used to teach at the same school as Sting before he was famous, or so she said!!

DonDons · 14/10/2008 09:46

I walked past David Coultard outside Nice airport 2 years ago.
