We've done the nasty, horrid ones, who would you be happy to go down the pub with?

I had to tighten my bodice to stop my heart leaping out.

cornsilklikeshumous · 11/12/2009 22:12

Don't spoil it UQD! tsk

UnquietDad · 11/12/2009 22:14

@cornsilk - she was skinnier than I'd imagined, I suppose. Cheekbones more pronounced. But not unhealthily so. Filled out her dress very nicely.

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 22:14

OFFS. Now look at me.

hohoholepew · 11/12/2009 22:16

In a lift with Bruce I'd never have let him out.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 11/12/2009 22:16

frumpy i recall that night, twas the night after Hyde Park and you made me very very jealous.

chickbean · 11/12/2009 22:25

Prince Andrew came to where I used to work and they asked for volunteers to meet him. I don't think anyone volunteered because I was then told that I had been selected. He was great. He had about 10 minutes in his schedule to meet us and ended up chatting for so long that he was about an hour late for lunch. He was really clued up and funny -I imagine that being a Royal and having to do this kind of event is extremely dull, but he showed no sign of being bored. I would definitely volunteer to meet him again.

cornsilklikeshumous · 11/12/2009 22:27

I'll bet they were chicken fillets UQD, Sorry but at 7 stone 7 and 5'6'' boobs will be a definite no no.

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 22:29

oh pavlov!!! If I could have bottled him and shared him round I would have! Later, I touched his cashmere as he squeezed by me. And he signed my ticket. I am still swooning and its been months and months. I sent everyone in my mobile a text at 2am in the morning telling them all about it

Did you hear that at the end of the tour, in the States, he was doing an album a night? A whole album in its entirety? So if you had a ticket for Tuesday, you might heat Darkness on The Edge of Town in its entirety, then a couple of nights later he did The River etc, etc etc. How good would THAT have been!!!!

UnquietDad · 11/12/2009 22:32

Goodness me, Sarah may not have had her knockers there but she has them on here!!

wineslurper · 11/12/2009 22:35

I know this isn't popular, but the truly gorgeous Myleene Klass stopped me and my kids at Glasgow Airport in september to give us a "Build a bear" teddy she's been given that she didn't have room for on her flight back. And she was lovely!!! She spent ages talking to my dds (3.5 and 2.10) and chatting about her daughter, and managed not to be a total sleb. I didn't really like her before, but she managed to covert me (while making me feel old, ugly, fat and ungroomed) even better, when dh got back from the gents (where he met Vic Reeves who he said seemed ok in a gents toilet kind of way)he said "Who was that?" and when i said it was Myleene, he replied "oh, who's she? Looked too skinny." love dh! . DDs keep talking about the "Pretty lady" though!

cornsilklikeshumous · 11/12/2009 22:37

I'm not really jealous of her youth and beauty. Not at all.

Portofino · 11/12/2009 22:38

We were in a restaurant in NY with Catherine Zeta Jones and MD and their children and dd went over to say hi(next table). CZJ was lovely and friendly - asked dd what her name was, how old etc. Kids all chatted together, dd chatted to CZJ. MD said zilch.

UnquietDad · 11/12/2009 22:38

Daizy, Jess and Phoebe from Girls Can't Catch were there too. They are even younger. And that'll have even more people going WHO?!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 11/12/2009 22:39

(frumpy - that would mean you would have had to go to ALL of them then! I would love to have done that...would have been awesome.

But cashmere? I guess he does have to change out of his sopping wet sweat-soaked shirt at some point You saw him after he had a shower didn't you?

Did i say already?) goes off to play Outlaw Pete and drive his DH mad again!

Sorry for the hijack too...

frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 22:39
frumpygrumpy · 11/12/2009 22:41

Yup, the lift bit I was talking about......he was freshly showered. We'd just seen him on stage, he must have rushed back to the hotel, showered, chucked on fresh jeans and grey cashmere and when I saw him he was still damp from the shower. I so wish I could freeze time. I must invent that.

vixma · 11/12/2009 22:42

Sir Ian McKellan, he was a really down to earth guy.

vixma · 11/12/2009 22:43

Good question!

TINKERBELLE33 · 11/12/2009 22:44

Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle) and his wife Zoe Henry (Police women in Eastenders and mad woman who had affair with Ashleigh in Corrie) are both lovely. They live in the same village as me and are so friendly & down to earth. Jeff is so quiet in real life and Zoe would do anything for anyone.

wineslurper · 11/12/2009 22:53

biting fist... that would have solved it! Instead i got home from my hols, settled kids and instantly felt the need to shower, shave legs and pluck my eyebrows after coming face to face with MK.... and then still felt old, saggy and ungroomed... but i'm not bitter, oh no, not me..... (pours yet more wine....) met Prince Edward once, totally nondescript, met John Leslie, flirty but creepy (who'd have thought!!) and Alex Salmond too (lovely!!) but am v jealous of those who have met David Tennant . My mate at work met Robbie in his cocaine/ knob phase and said he was a wee shite, but would still like to say hello though.... (old, sad, married but still )....

BitOfFun · 11/12/2009 22:57

Robbie? I think it was because my eye scanned "cocaine" and I assumed you meant Robbie Coltrane. I read the sentence properly still thinking this, and thought Blimey, he must be the fattest coke head ever

bruffin · 11/12/2009 23:07

DH was talking to Gavin Henson trying to get his new boat to work. He was nice to DH considering it was 11 at night and he,CC and the dcs were supposed to going on holiday the next morning
Peter snow is lovely, he was coming to DH's factory to have a lesson on how to run his boat generator.

He ran out of petrol on the way there and had to bring his teenage daughter, I got the impression he needed her to explain things.
He was really lovely, but i got the impression the minutae of life pass him by. We ended up giving his DD a lift to the nearest train station.
Met Princess Anne a few times and she was nice.

cornsilklikeshumous · 11/12/2009 23:11

domesticextremist · 11/12/2009 23:13
