We've done the nasty, horrid ones, who would you be happy to go down the pub with?

Adam Ant is a lovely bloke (nothing to do with the fact he's a distant relative of course)

majeika · 09/10/2008 11:09

Sean Bean

Dustin Hoffman - utterly charming

PortofinoPumpkin · 09/10/2008 11:10

mewerewolvesarehowling · 09/10/2008 11:19

I'd never heard of Owen Hargreaves but I think I love him after that story. How nice! I'll have to google him now for a pic.

I've met Jane Horrocks. She's from round here and my ex bf's cousin is one of her best friends. We were babysitting one night when they went out and she was really nice and chatty.

mewerewolvesarehowling · 09/10/2008 11:22

aww he looks like a hobbit

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 09/10/2008 12:59

A friend of mine was an extra in a film where Princess Beatrice was also an extra. Beatrice spent 3 days sitting around with the other extras in a cold room waiting for scenes. Apparantly she was very lovely, totally unstarry, no special treatment and chatted away to everyone. My friend said she's a credit to her parents.

I met Bill Wyman once and he was lovely. Though in hindsight I was 16 at the time, maybe thats why he was so nice to me

TheCrackFox · 09/10/2008 13:51

DH says Melvyn Bragg is lovely and great fun.

MadameOvary · 09/10/2008 14:07

DP met Chris Moyles at the Sony Radio Awards and said he was really nice, same for Terry Wogan.
Met David Tennant, he was lovely, and Dylan Moran too.

PootleAndThePoseysMum · 09/10/2008 14:22

Annie Lennox - lovely, friendly, interesting lady.

(I also met Lowrie Turner who was also lovely, chatty and kind but I know she is not popular with many MNetters so I wont mention that )

BodenGroupie · 10/10/2008 00:45

DH says Mick Jagger and Chris Evans both friendly.

DD was at school with Howard from Take That's dd - he used to get mobbed by hordes of autograph-hunting kids every time he did the school run but was always lovely to them.

Friend met Hugh Grant - says he was lovely (but
she is gorgeous

DaddyJ · 10/10/2008 01:14

The young David Beckham, believe it or not.

Must have been about 8 years ago, met him in a club
while celebrating United's victory over some European team.

Really down to earth, almost shy guy.
He was lapping up the adulation, of course,
but it had not gone to his head which was a pleasant surprise.

ipanemagirl · 10/10/2008 13:57

Jonathan Ross - lovely bloke

clarabellabella · 10/10/2008 16:09

Dylan Moran. He came into a restaurant I used to work in and left a very generous tip. I saw him in pubs and bars all over Edinburgh during the fringe (normally smoking and drinking. Not surprising).

Though this relates to the other thread ...
I used to be a MASSIVE fan of Travis, until I worked at a "charity" concert that they were doing: they charged £50,000! I found that very rude.

londontipton · 10/10/2008 16:18

Simon Callow is a god, absolutely charming...

ALMummy · 10/10/2008 18:35

Christian Slater was lovely. When he was appearing in One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest I queued afterwards to get his autograph and I told him I thought he was amazing in it and he looked absolutely delighted like it really meant something and said "Thankyou, thank you very much!"

Ralph Fiennes used to live a couple of houses away from me. We always smiled in a neighbourly way when we saw each other.

David Schwimmer - snotty and superior, acted like he was doing a huge favour signing autographs.

Others seen include Dermot O'Leary - in Sainsburys, Paul Nicholls, Colin Firth, Adrian Chiles, Francesca Annis, James McAvoy(faints away at the thought) and Anne Marie Duff getting on the tube, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis at Sex and the City Premiere.

Live in London - Celebs are on every corner here.

ipanemagirl · 11/10/2008 18:05

On the subject of rowers - don't know if Matthew Pinsent counts, but found him in my kitchen drinking coffeee with my builder when i popped in to check on progress on our house a few years ago ( builder was inclined to have his rowing mates round as he got a bit bored sometimes with his day job... ) Staggered back to work in shock to be told by my solleaguers to 'GO BACK IMMEDIATELY AND BLAG SNOG' = well .... old enough to be his mum - I didn't
