Random things that you realise, realtively late in life, you just dont like?

Fairly recently, Ive realised I dont like these things:

Live albums/song recordings. No matter how much I love the band or song.
Watching dance…especially in a musical
Songs named after women…even I can’t explain that one!
Meals where every mouthful is the same…e.g. pizza

I wouldnt have said these things a year ago I dont think , so it proves TIPU am still getting to know myself in my late 50’s!

Anyone else had a similar epiphany?

Overt messaging in drama’s / films other media. I am pretty Left wing but it seems a lot of drama try to turn themselves into a ‘teaching moment’ about racism, feminism, trans rights etc. etc. such as the female character will fight off 3 large 6 foot guys, the white guy will turn out to be the villain etc.

I don’t like camping but will do it for my DH and DD and friends we go with every year. I’m not keen on parties and as I’ve got older I just don’t want to go. Last one was last year in London. Everyone was drunk and I felt so out of it. I am going to one soon but it’s someone I’m an acquaintance with so it won’t be too bad. It’s more DH family as they are all loud and too much. Even he’s starting to feel the same 😂

Noise - mainly people speaking with very loud voices.

NimbleHiker · Today 12:26

Caravan holidays.

Pootles34 · Today 12:29

I can't bear noise either - I've had to stop watching Strictly because of this - it's just too much! Shouty shouty scream scream. Also adverts on commercial radio/tv, most game shows. We're going to see Gladiators live soon....

People. Most of them are so tiresome on every level for me to want to bother.

Wildlife documentaries which spend the last ten minutes telling us how every living creature on the planet will become extinct unless we do something. Yes. I know. I'm watching a wildlife documentary. You are preaching to the converted.

Being out after 10pm, there’s just no need for it.

People. Going out. Going into the office.

cheapskatemum · Today 12:42

Instant coffee. It’s made it so much easier when people ask me what I’d like to drink & I can decide straightaway on tea.

Camping for sure. I’ve never had a good nights sleep in a tent.. Also, crowds and noisy bars.

Crikeyalmighty · Today 12:45

Shouty, screamy people. Looking at you Alison Hammond as you are ruining Bake Off again after initially calming down and being tolerable.

PurpleLovecats · Today 12:47

Camping
Coats - hate them, bulky irritating shit.
jeans - hate the feeling of a waistband
wide leg pjs - threat of falling down stairs when wearing

Bufftailed · Today 12:48

With pps. I have realised i do not like groups of people. I like peace. And I am happy with that!

omghereistrouble · Today 12:49

going out will if i have to but like my own little life in my home peaceful

drama queens i just cannot be bothered with them these days or their sh*t just grow up and shut up

Bandsis · Today 12:51

City breaks and museums. I want to be the sort of person who enjoys them, but either I'm doing it wrong or they're boring 😆 I am interested in culture and history to read/watch a documentary, but wandering around to see it leaves me cold and tired.
