What food do you purposely not buy?

Is there a food that you purposely don't buy because if it's in the house you'll scoff the lot?!

For me it's crunchy nut cornflakes. OMG I could eat an entire packet in a day, easy! It's like they call out to me "eat me"!!

So I very rarely buy them. What's yours?

Shortbread. I fucking love the stuff. It’s a Christmas treat in my house!

I have it in my house all year round. I can't help it. 😞

I’ve just added a jar of the LIDL Bueno goo to my shopping. I just need a spoon now…

Pistachio cream
i convince myself it’s okay if I have it on corn thins…
also danish pastries

Me too. I can eat pistachio cream by the spoonful!

Waitrose mango and ginger cheese is another weakness, it just hits that perfect sweet/savoury spot.

And Doves Farm digestives. No idea why but just so good.

Another for the Jaffa cakes. Is it even possible to eat a single Jaffa cake??

I hate them so much that I refer to them as "devil's bumhole"

My colleague saved me one- and drew me a picture reflecting the above with the offending item on the offending location. 🤣 I did try again to be sure and still hate them.

So the answer to your question- me! 🙋🏻‍♀️

For us Cheetos from Costco where you get two bags. I have one "up." Up is that place above the cabinets that I can't reach even with a step stool. DP has to get it and we essentially have to agree to bring them out because we stress eat them (me) or eat feelings (him).

Tunnocks tea cakes and Cadbury's chocolate fingers.
Periodically I do buy one or the other and take great pleasure in demolishing the lot

See these pink mallow biscuits with two strips of mallow, jam in the middle and coconut over the top. These. Haven’t had one for years.

Those are called iced vovos here in Australia ❤️ and I eat the whole packet too 😊

blackheartsgirl · 23/10/2026 10:15

Cocopops, I can eat a whole box in a day with ice cold milk

very rarely buy them now

PorkPieForStarters · 24/10/2026 23:16

Just remembered mini eggs. So glad they're not available year-round, I'm the shape of one now.

SaraHoliday · 24/10/2026 23:48

Lindt Lindor. Deadly to have those in the house.
McVities Milk Chocolate Digestives.
Cashew nuts.
Marks and Spencer Chocolate Covered Raisins.
Marks and Spencer Mountain Bar - what a joke. I buy one each week 😂

I can't quite work out if I'm in heaven or hell? 😇😈

It's used as a scoop for icecream in this house.

I have another one to add to my list: Dutch Stroopwafels.

I’m fatally attracted to things that are bad for me.
Raw hotdog sausages.
Uncooked tortellini.
Those nasty oily “sticks” that are obviously industrial waste from the crisp factory.
Frying pan grease reheated and used for fried bread.
Cheese rinds I can pare from the inside.
The cheapest Custard Creams available.
Toast and butter sprinkled with stock powder.

It was the "uncooked tortellini" that got me! 😂
