What food do you purposely not buy?

Is there a food that you purposely don't buy because if it's in the house you'll scoff the lot?!

For me it's crunchy nut cornflakes. OMG I could eat an entire packet in a day, easy! It's like they call out to me "eat me"!!

So I very rarely buy them. What's yours?

Ice cream. I’m lactose intolerant, but I absolutely love it.

Vegan ice cream just isn’t the same.

Jacob’s cream crackers. I use them to scoop up Lurpak from the tub 😣

And M&S Cookies and Cream spread. I bought a tub once and ate the whole lot with a teaspoon before realising it contained my entire calorie intake for the month.

Kettle crisps
Lesbian biscuits
cheesy footballs
i can eat all of these in one sitting

Chocolate digestives, they have a very limited lifespan in this house and invariably cause an argument when one of asks ‘What happened to the biscuits?!?’

What on earth are lesbian biscuits?

thistimelastweek · 19/10/2026 22:22

Salted peanuts.
Wine gums.

dontforgetme · 19/10/2026 22:23

Shortbread. I fucking love the stuff. It’s a Christmas treat in my house!

Aydel · 19/10/2026 22:24

Chocolate milk.

MerelyPlaying · 19/10/2026 22:24

Granola. Cannot leave it alone, not for breakfast I will just eat it bowl after bowl till it’s all gone.

crisps - if my friend’s kids are visiting I buy something disgusting that isn’t really crisps like pickled onion Monster Munch so I’m not tempted to eat them. Otherwise I can eat a six-pack of crisps in 24 hours.

Feeling relieved to know it’s not just me!

ItWasntMyFault · 19/10/2026 22:25

Any snacks that come in big packets designed to be shared as once I open them I just keep eating until they are gone.
I’m fine with individual packets though and can manage to stop at one.

CherryKerry · 19/10/2026 22:25

Biscuits, never buy them with my weekly shop.

Unfortunately I don't have the same will power when popping in to M&S for a lunchtime sandwich 😳.

I also have no will power with fresh orange juice and tend to drink by the pint.

Sunshineandrainbow · 19/10/2026 22:25

Cheese savouries and shortbread

Tootsurly · 19/10/2026 22:25

FionnulaTheCooler · 19/10/2026 21:29

Jaffa cakes. I don't think I've ever opened a packet and not finished them.

As it should be. One packet of Jaffa Cakes is clearly a serving.

Say what biscuits?
I’m guessing its an autocorrect!

Megsdaughter · 19/10/2026 22:27

Scones, cream and jam. Could eat 6 at a go.

Modernschooling · 19/10/2026 22:33

Wine
Bread
Crisps
If I but any I try and buy varieties I don’t like so I don’t eat or drink it all in one sitting.
Although I do buy too much wine.

MyLifeHasChanged · 19/10/2026 22:57

Macaroni Cheese 😬 yes I have a massive carbohydrate belly 🫣

Chocolate raisins and chocolate peanuts, just can’t stop when I get started !

notspringingback · 19/10/2026 23:00

Haha - crunchy nut cornflakes are basically crack. How anyone can have them in the house and not demolish the box immediately is beyond me.

If you can get it Deans of Huntly shortbread is the bees knees.

MrsAvocet · 19/10/2026 23:09

Ringtons brazil nut chocolate biscuits. I could eat a whole packet without stopping to draw breath. I'm not a biscuit fan generally, my weaknesses are normally savoury snacks, but those are absolutely irresistable.

bodgejob2 · 19/10/2026 23:12

Lurpak purely because i refuse to spend such an obscene amount on butter when you can get own brand alternatives for a fraction of the price.

Dobi · 19/10/2026 23:12

In addition to lesbian biscuits :-), MAGNUMS. Very dangerous.
