What food do you purposely not buy?

Is there a food that you purposely don't buy because if it's in the house you'll scoff the lot?!

For me it's crunchy nut cornflakes. OMG I could eat an entire packet in a day, easy! It's like they call out to me "eat me"!!

So I very rarely buy them. What's yours?

Peanuts, beer, cashewnuts and dark chocolate dipped almonds.

As for all the rest; sweets, crisps, biscuits I'm not tempted at all.

Peanut butter.

I would love to be able to buy it and use it appropriately. But I end up eating it off a spoon and about 4000 calories of peanut butter disappears in 3 days 🙈

Anything sweet. Chocolate, sweets, and cake.

Can't keep any of it in the house. At all.

Same, it calls to me!.
Same reason I rarely bake, we can't rest until it's eaten. If I want something sweet I have to go out for it, so that cuts back on the consumption.

When I'm really old, I'm just going to stuff my face with all my favourite sweet stuff as I won't care anymore.

Chocolate - I actually hide it so I don’t eat it all in one evening. Yes of course I know where it is but it does put me off eating it. Sometimes I come across forgotten hidden chocolate - it’s like winning the lottery 🤣

Tesco Finest dark chocolate ginger biscuits.

Though unfortunately there’s a packet of them beside me as I type this …

Border dark choc gingers are my faves.
Enjoy your choc gingers.😋😋

Soft white pillow like rolls and real butter. No, yes yes yes, nope....

I have a bit of both stuck in the back of the freezer for a bad day though. Thank god for microwaves and a sunny windowsill. IYKYK. 😊

I always buy wrapped chocolate biscuits, (KitKat, Penguin, Club and similar), it means I have less temptation to scoff a whole packet of ordinary biscuits.

BoogieVoogieAllNightLong · 20/10/2026 20:18

I didn't think I had one... but then I remembered Dutch crisp bakes are a thing. 😬

bababamama · 20/10/2026 20:18

most sweet stuff, crisps, treat things basically. It’s not that we never eat them, but we buy them to eat on a Saturday evening rather than keeping a stock

HangryBrickShark · 20/10/2026 20:19

Oreo biscuits. Once I start I just can't seem to stop.

Ethelspagetti · 20/10/2026 20:23

I don’t buy anything I like snack wise. I only get my walkers sensations and maltesers at Christmas, Easter and my birthday!

Agatha1989 · 20/10/2026 20:25

Chocolate in any form. DH is diabetic and DC prefer crisps to snack on. My friend sent me a Tony’s Chocolonely bar as a thank you for a lift to the airport and I ate the lot.

LumiGlow · 20/10/2026 20:36

Chocolate cornflake bites. Addictive and gone in one sitting.

Isinglass20 · 20/10/2026 20:42

Liquorice allsorts

Pliudev · 20/10/2026 21:00

Cornflakes but not the crunchy nut ones. My last supper in the condemned cell would be cornflakes with very cold top of the milk cream, like it used to be in the old days Semi skimmed now.

Peanut butter

That and a loaf I could munch both in a day.

Yuletidefelicitations · 20/10/2026 21:40

We’re all about the carbs on here.
Everyone can trust themselves around broccoli and apples.

Dawnb19 · 20/10/2026 21:41

Pringles.

zigazigaaaing · 20/10/2026 21:41
