btw what is that on the ground in one of the photos - that the cat appears to be sniffing / eating ?

Would that not attract rats ? mice, pigeons or seagulls...

Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014: The police or local council can issue Community Protection Notices (CPNs) or enforce Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) for anti-social behavior involving out-of-control dogs or failure to keep dogs on leads in specific areas.

'Course i have something to report'

For the 3rd time - which By Law or Act of Law do you think the local council can take action upon ?

As for the RSPCA do you think they will send out an inspector to sit on one of the benches on this path to wait for this dog owner ever coming back in the hope that she lets her dog off the lead ( no offence committed yet ? ) and tells the dog to ' go get them '...

Dangerous Dogs Act 1991: While the core "dangerously out of control" offence primarily applies when a dog injures or causes fear of injury to a person or an assistance dog, allowing a dog to behave aggressively or dangerously in public can still trigger broader police intervention or court orders regarding the dog's control

There are several offences shes broken ,and several roads i can go down to prevent this happening again.

the dog won’t catch the cats but yes she’s mean to let her dog off knowing it will give chase.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · Yesterday 00:35

'Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Section 4)'

Oh super ! now which officer at your local council is the authorised person under that Act of Law ?

You replied to the wrong question again.

Ive had confirmation today that i am in my rights to report it and that the local authorties should be informed.just because u disagree that a cat ks fsster than a dog so that means its all okies isnt the case.it only takes one time for a cat to be caught of guard.one time.doesnt matter who im reporting it to its the fact that i have grounds to report it because not only is she being irresponsible shes putting others at risk even claiming shes at risk if she leaves him on the lead.

DO NOT waste the Council's time re The Dangerous Dogs Act !!!
This is NOT what it was introduced for !!!

but do keep Googling for Animal legislation

maybe your thread will reach 40 pages

Meanwhile

is there a Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) applied to this path / pathway ?

SnowFrogJelly · Yesterday 00:44

Eh

Flowercandy · Yesterday 00:47

Im not bothered about what the pathway has im bothered about keeping it safe for all animals dogs and cats .well we got iresponsible people like that around who cant control her dog let alone herself the place isnt safe.and before u all say well dogs will chase cats ,cats will chase dogs
ITS NOT ABOUT THAT.its about the dog being intised to do it.

btw you should contact The Cat Action Trust - they will help with a colony of feral cats.

as it is not usual for that many cats to be living on this path / pathway

Im bascially saying do you all agree that a lady lets her dog off the lead purely to attack and chase cats .and the reason for her doing this is because apparently her dog will pull her arm put her socket so she said.

She’s a twat. Shouldn’t have a dog she can’t control. Get evidence and report and keep doing it.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · Yesterday 00:58

Onto page 7 now

DID the dog actually attack the cat ?!!!

HalzTangz · Yesterday 01:40

Why are people being mean to the OP. She has clearly stated several times the dog owner is letting the dog off lead and telling the dog to go get the cats. This is not acceptable behaviour from the dog owner at all.
If the dog pulls her arm out of its socket, she needs to train the dog, not let it off lead to chase and attack other animals.
Op, if I witnessed this I would be reporting the dog owner whilst also firmly telling them they need to train and control a dog on lead not encourage a dog to attack other animals

Onautopilot · Yesterday 01:55

To those posters who see no problem with the dog owner, and presumably all dog owners, actively encouraging dogs to chase other animals ("he will pull my arm from its socket") and have poor, if any recall, please consider this: if the dog doesn't get its initial target it will look for something else handy. Like a child. The adrenalin from the chase doesn't differentiate species.

HettyTagliatelli · Yesterday 02:10

You are making incorrect assumptions about this woman’s intent.

Dogs chase cats, and cats are quite capable of running away thanks to their superior ability to climb stuff. It was fine and you have nothing to report.

She has said more than once that these are not feral cats.

maxslice · Yesterday 03:42

The woman who let her dogs off the lead and urged them to go after the cats was an evil cow. If she knows there are usually cats in the area is concerned about the dogs yanking her arm, she should walk elsewhere.

But the cats are killing a hell of a lot more animals than the dogs 😂

That’s true! Of all the dogs I’ve owned not one of them has ever brought home a dead animal. I’ve had fewer cats over the years but they’ve brought home birds, mice, frogs and even a squirrel once! Bastard cats!!!

cartagenagina · Yesterday 07:29

I’m guessing English isn’t OPs first language?

This dog is apparently let loose among the cats regularly and isn’t doing any harm. I don’t think the police are going to set up surveillance to catch her.

It’s clearly really bothering you so I would avoid this area in future.

'Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Section 4)'

Oh super ! now which officer at your local council is the authorised person under that Act of Law ?

The local council Environment team will have at least one person responsible for this, usually referred to as the "dog warden". I have worked in a different part of Environment at a local council & would chat with one of them there.

Reading other post by you, you seem to be finding any excuse possible to attack the OP

btw you should contact The Cat Action Trust - they will help with a colony of feral cats.

How many times does the OP have to say these are OWNED cats, she even knows some of the owners herself. They are NOT feral!

For the 3rd time - which By Law or Act of Law do you think the local council can take action upon ?

The OP has quoted the relevant laws. Your response to that was to "accuse" her of using Google to get the exact wording and correct name and reference to the acts. You can know a law exists, but not know the wording or which act, but you seem to be suggesting that OP checking these details somehow negates the fact that these laws DO exist.

No there owned they just like walking up and down the path'
' The cats have been on the path for years '
Don't the cats ever go home ? You write as if they ( plural tho you've not said how large this colony of cats is )

Shows how little you understand cats - unless like most of your posts it's just nit picking & hunting for anything at all to try to attack the OP with. The cats come out after breakfast in the homes they live in. They pop off to the local hang out where they know they will meet their mates. Come the evening they go back home for supper and a night snuggled up all warm. Sort of like teenagers during the school holidays?

I can't be bothered to go back through the entire thread to quote some of your posts, plus work beckons. But your behaviour is petty, childish and borderline bullying
