I think it's a sweet house and I can see it's been done by someone who knows what they're doing. I like it better than most of the bland, blank canvass houses, and I really like a couple of the rooms.....but I'm not sure I'd want to live there.

I couldn’t live with it, but it’s been done well.

It’s tiny though and would look messy very quickly.

OffTheMap · Yesterday 10:54

Luckily we have B&Q for anyone who wouldn’t want to live with the colour.

Here's the estate agent's PDF brochure showing the bathroom (which is totally different in the "Gallery" mages):

You need to question how much of it is real.

Very little. I wonder how many posters on here saying they love it, it's so creative, so full of personality, have also posted on AI threads saying they hate it, they'd never use it etc

One benefit of using AI is it is easy to spot in the wild

chocolatestodgeandcustard · Yesterday 11:13

Having stated in the description that the property is owned by a member of staff, you'd think they would have at least created a PDF where the images match the images in the "Gallery".

PhilOPastry62 · Yesterday 11:17

Disappointing that it seems to have been done by AI. Anyone going to see it on the strength of the photos will get a surprise! Surely it doesn't work in the agents' and vendors' interest to massively enhance the house? I mean, a few little touch-ups is expected these days, but not major changes.

AndyouWILLATONE · Yesterday 11:21

I like it.

The yellow bathroom can also be glimpsed via the landing image, which itself does not match the decoration and flooring of the ground floor hall and stairs.

There are clauses in their "Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008" in the PDF which I imagine cover them.

But it does not paint the agents in a good light.

The fact that it appears to partially (mostly?) AI, confirms my view that it isn't well done or particularly creative...although it does seem to have fooled many of us!

What got me is that there doesn't seem to be any cohesion between the design they've used. I'm not saying that cohesion would be deliberate, but even in the most colourful and eclectic of homes you would see that they gravitate towards certain colours, tones, combinations, patterns etc.

Here you have the primary colour pallette downstairs with bold red, blue and green. But then there's also the hot pink sofa and bathroom, and the bright orange garden, which seems different. The yellow in the hall is much more saturated than the yellow in the bedroom. The main bedroom is earthy and floral, but the bathroom and stairs are graphic. The office leans MCM and is a real odd one out.

I don't get any sense looking at this house of what their style is and what they actually like.

Mintyt · Yesterday 12:58

Love it but will look very different empty

I think there is a potential the house has been painted and one set of images is old, likely the brochure, and for street view I suspect it’s been painted since that was taken , as street view can take uo to 7 years to update, and regularly 3-5

The owner is an employee of the estate agent.

Why would someone who works for the agent use two out of date photos in the "Gallery" and an outdated photo in the brochure PDF?

I think if you're that way inclined it's great. Personally I find it a bit OTT, I like colour but added against a relatively neutral background so it can be changed easily, this I think, could not be changed easily.

There's only really the bathroom and the hall I'd want to tone down straightaway. I'd by ripping up that zebra carpet runner. I'd also town down the bright green kitchen.

zingally · Yesterday 14:19

I hate the zebra stairs, but love everything else!!

I went googling and found it used to be a very pastel holiday cottage:

Or maybe that was all AI too.

The most recent Google street view is dated May 2024 (in which the exterior walls are cream with a green door) and it was on the market with another agent.

The stair carpet in those pics matches the view of the stairs from the landing in the current listing - which do not match the zebra design stairs.

Mish mash.

TheLastSilverSaint · Yesterday 16:02

Setting aside whether its real or AI - while it's not my style, it's been done well and if I walked into a house like that I'd think it was lovely and would enjoy spending time there. It's not my specific taste, though. I like colour but I wouldn't want colours as bright as that and my own tastes are a bit darker and more vintage.
