I am sure it's as good as their vetting process

Absolutely. I never expected the internal investigation to find them guilty of anything.

Yeah, I'm more interested in the met polices verdict.

The idea is to punt the idea they are "innocent" in advance of the (presumably inevitable) determination of guilt by the appropriate authorities. This will be taken up by the drooling Reformistas as proof of a stitch-up and further fuel their (likely justified) sense of inferiority and rage.

placemats · 01/10/2026 17:57

Indeed. They'll also feel hounded and have hurty feelings.

Efacsen · 01/10/2026 18:03

Agree - and also suspect Farage is desperate to have them back as they are so central to Reform's operations

Cheguevarahamster · 01/10/2026 18:03

Thanks for the new thread @DuncinToffee .Tax to follow. Finally watched Andy Burnham’s speech—properly impressed. No notes, a genuine story to tell and direct delivery. Powerful stuff.

Edited

Agreed. It'll be kangaroo court, stitch up Johnson all over again.

Are the Excel fans here excited by Microsofts announcement that they are introducing the ability to store arrays in cells ? Thus reinventing the 3-dimensional spreadsheets that were around in the 80s.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 01/10/2026 18:31

I bloody love excel.

Now I'm retired my Excel use is very limited. But I have to confess I have pivot tables analysing my reading - fiction/non fiction, male/ female authors.

CatchyRocksonSong · 01/10/2026 18:50

What about Burnham?

I have lost count of how many times I have traced down a "hidden" Excel spreadsheet that someone who once took a course has built a departments workflow around. Usually to circumvent the official IT provided workflow which doesn't.

Mind you, Access was worse.

Me too. I've buit so many lovely lovely things that people who don't do Excel can easily use with nested IFS.
