These will be the people who say that the Bible has no place in their Christianity. (Meaning it's useless to quote it to them).

It could be a desire to not making society pluralistic, so that certain elements of the Equality Act can be scrapped and, by dint of, a way to leave the ECHR.

I think it's because they are just vile and thick as pigshit.

You said it more eloquently than myself.

It appears to be an anti Islam thing. They are no more Christian than I am. Very much a lapsed Catholic.

As a practicing Catholic this behaviour is so offensive. The way I learnt more about Islam was a series of talks at our church and a visit to a mosque. Through which I know a small amount about Islamic beliefs about and respect for Jesus.

regular posters on this thread and attending the anti marches and rallies embody Christian values these people don’t understand. They aren’t just Christian or religious values either, they are basic human values across all societies. They have not been lived up to by many people(including me). However this is twisting not even trying to live up to anything.

I learnt about Islam through geography and ancient history lessons plus, essentially, the missions.

I wonder if it would be possible to lay a free vote in parliament ...

"This house recognises the 2016 referendum was actively targeted by hostile states"

FWIW

DuncinToffee · 11/10/2026 17:47

That would be an interesting move.

Agree. It would sniff out the bad players.

DuncinToffee · 11/10/2026 17:47

That would be an interesting move.

The wording could be refined.

It wouldn't commit anyone to anything, but if passed (as a free vote) it would spike the guns of people who say democracy louder than they practice it.

E2A: it would give media commentators a chance to correct...

Brexiteer: "The will of the people"
Interviewer "The will of some people"

Thus laying the groundwork for Brexiteers to have to fight a rearguard action, as momentum grows for rapprochement

Parliament back today - seems to have been a long conference season this year

And Desperate Nige is going for ice style mass deportations.

Including the Leader of the Opposition.

DuncinToffee · 12/10/2026 08:53

This one is solely aimed at asylum seekers and at those who blame them for everything that is wrong in this country.

It will mean that more decent people will stand up against him.

I had to hide that thread. MN has attracted some real ghouls. Or just posters with zero internal boundaries.

lots of comments on Threads this morning that since the Russian Data Centre was taken down Bot activity has significantly decreased - wonder will there be an impact here.

The comments section in the Telegraph isn't exactly glowing either.

Our Mate Phil pointed out a few months ago that her boneheaded devotion to Net Zero was almost tailored to piss off the country squire Tories who are sensitive to the environment.

It wasn't perfect. But when it was "broad church"/"one nation", the Conservatives could generally appeal to a lot of people with something - certainly enough to stop them straying too far to another party.

That could equate to a 0.001% energy saving in the UK. As servers have to do that little bit less to block attacks ....
