I have a lot of time for Caroline Lucas, but I wish she would accept that the Green party now is not what it once was, and properly distance herself from it.

I would rather the green party woke up and got back to their roots. Surely ZP will be out now?

I don't think so, because it's my understanding that he has attracted lots of new members that aren't necessarily interested in traditional "green" issues but actively support Polanski's agenda.

I can't see any easy way back for them.

That's the issue. They appointed someone to lead who isn't really Green. I am sure he's on the descent though.

Let's hope so!

Do you think the Greens might split? The newsagents podcast seemed to be hinting at that with talk of ‘entryism’ and factions. There’s already talk of the Greens in Wales becoming separate.

They'll lose a shed load of votes though if they go back to being retired vegans.

I freely admit to being drawn to the Greens more socialist left wing agenda. I have been lured back to Labour by Starmer's departure. I don't think I am unusual.

SerendipityJane · 10/10/2026 10:36

I think the decline of the Greens is symptomatic of the new age where Everyone has to have An Opinion on Everything.

As though life is a mere sequence of experiments where we assay each other with tests. Very similar to how we (well, some of us) used to test for oxygen. Or CO2. Does it relight a glowing splint ? Does it create a precipitation when passed through lime water and so on.

The more humanity can be fractured, the easier it is to prevent coalescence.

As forever and always, to whose end ?

I got 7 on the quiz!!!!

I really enjoyed the questions - especially the (not pictured …. That’s a …..) 😂

In a health update ……

I have an MRI next week to check the cyst closer due to its internal wall. That will (should) give a clearer view of the risk of malignancy and what is happening next (and how quickly!)

Russia said "thank you" for the lifted diesel sanctions by dropping five guided bombs on homes in Zaporizhzhia, Zelensky says, with the toll standing at 12 dead, including three children, and 14 wounded, two critically.

One for the Trump supporters

Keep that Freepost address handy

"Reform UK Freepost RTLT-ZXHY-KSDC"

https://spectator.com/article/revealed-reforms-new-media-strategy/

Damaged by repeated revelations of seeming grift, Reform is now trying to bypass the media by publishing its own paper, The Reformer, which will be sent for free to 15 million homes.

There’ll be free content online engineered to appear high in Google searches.

Britain First have started a petition to deport Badenoch, many Restore and Reform supporters are sharing it online

Andy Burnham would never have become our PM if it had not been for Sir Keir Starmer bringing the Labour party together and electable, in my opinion.
He had given up on Wesminster he said.
Obviously the hopeless Tories helped.
I hope KS will be working behind the scenes somewhere soon as we are in an extremely precarious situation .

I also hope that AB does a good job though and I will still back Labour.
Nowhere else to go anyway as no time for ZP.

I am guessing there are fewer pigeons in the park to shout at, now it's getting colder.

Bloody hell. I don’t like the woman but this is utterly despicable. I’d expect that from Britain First, but it’s lowered the bar again on Reform (maybe not Restore, they seem to be Britain First in a suit anyway)

It does rather make a Tory-Reform lash up coalition more unlikely. And that is looking increasingly like the only hope that fucker Farage will ever have of getting near power.

If Kemi wants to impress us, she could add to her edicts about ECHR and net zero and add another barring any ex Reformastore member joining the Tory party in future.

Speaking of rearranged deckchairs, did Farage actually enact his threat to prevent more Tories from joining Reform after the local elections ?

BIossomtoes · 10/10/2026 12:12

Jesus, that’s disgusting. I just heard Hegseth doing an interview about the firing squad execution, he was almost on the verge of orgasm as he described it. Every time I think they can’t get any worse they prove me wrong.

Sadly, they are still just going over the lip of the deep, deep well of horror that history tells us falls very very deep.

LizzieW1969 · 10/10/2026 12:52

I’m ready glad you’re being seen so soon, @itsgettingweird.

Re that petition to deport Badenoch, how disgusting can these people get? But Reform have shot themselves in the foot here, as there is no way she will touch Reform now. And a pact with the Tories would have been their only chance of getting anywhere near power.

Although in reality, it’s the same for both parties in the current climate. So we can be grateful that they’re so much at loggerheads.

There has to be a happy place for retired vegans, the young who were already voting green before ZP, and the more left newcomers without going down the road they have.

Piggywaspushed · 10/10/2026 14:12

I'd like to know where that is!
