Yn ysbryd teitl y drafodaeth: dim ond mynegi boddhad a wnes i fod y ddwy blaid adain dde eithafol (efallai fy mod wedi defnyddio gair sy'n cynnwys llythyren olaf yr wyddor) wedi dod yn is na'r trydydd safle. Bydd hi'n ddiddorol gweld pa mor bell y mae ein harchwilwyr yn barod i fynd yn eu dirmyg tuag at ieithoedd "tramor", ac a fydd y neges hon yn cael ei nodi a/neu ei dileu hefyd.

Dwli.

Got this reply from MN

Hi DuncinToffee,

The first post was deleted because we mistakenly read it as a personal attack - we went back to the thread, reread the conversation following the post and established that the post did not appear to be aimed at anyone posting.
The second post, we don't have a reason for - just human error on our side of things.

Best wishes,
Lily, MNHQ

A charitable reading of that response would be that they couldn't be arsed to read the posts properly so they just deleted them.

I have my own more cynical reading but I'll probably be deleted if I share it here!

DuncinToffee · 09/10/2026 18:13

MN can't really say that Jane's posts might be difficult to interpret by unfashionables or AI Wink

Seems the Lib Dem’s are moving against Ed Davey now. Presumably because of the poor showing yesterday.

There's been stirring all summer. He does seem to have lost focus.

I suspect that going back in the mists of time - when "Web 2.0" was something you could sell, the MN moderation mechanism was based on a concept of good faith.

Lovely dog photo. Anyone who does.this quiz and posts here will definitely get one answer right.

Edited

😂

I surprised myself by getting about half of them right, along the way.

My humble opinion is that it's because Davey is too conciliatory to this current Government and generally agrees with Burnham's desire for cross party support.

I stopped at the question. I need to get off me bum and feed the rabble.

I think it's quite difficult for Davey to provide a strong voice of opposition to Labour when Burnham is promising to sort out social care, build closer ties to the EU, progress reforms to the electoral system etc

I mean, if Labour charges ahead with all of the above, one has to ask what the Libdems are actually for? Other than providing a palatable alternative for disaffected Tories who don't want to vote for the far right, that is?

Agree, however it's a bonus for the LibDems in that they can win/retain the southern shire seats, most of them being formerly held by one nation Tories.

Ha! Quiz is hilarious. I got 11.

Yes, but surely the moderators should engage their brains when deciding whether or not to delete posts that have been reported.

MN moderation is focused on the site as a whole. Therefore the moderators have to think of the dim.

Much like your headmistress as school might say "I understood your point, Jane. But you have to remember not everyone can understand those words, and I can't help but think you used them deliberately to upset them".

my suggestion that maybe they should learn the words before being upset was rather lost.

It would be inaccurate to say "lowest common denominator, but I just have 😀

An old boss once said to me. "You struggle communicating with people less intelligent than you. Unfortunately that's most people" I took it as a compliment but also tried very hard to word things differently.

Gosh, hard to know how to reply to something like that!

Luckily it was a very nice boss and he knew I'd been very frustrated by some bonkers senior management decisions that went completely contrary to the analysis I'd provided.

Israel is not happy with Nobel Peace Prize winner Navi Pillay

No surprise there

Pillay received her prize in Nuremberg

Given the L/Ds consistent position regarding Brexit & (under Davey) their focus social care I think they still have something to offer me.
Burnham’s speech covered elderly care but I don’t think I saw much for disabled adults.

If any new leader has different priorities I’ll review.

Excellent article. We've just gone over that cliff edge with DS2. After a disastrous year at college, we're just sticking with his few hours a week outreach, for now. I've seen nothing that makes me think yeah, he will fit in there and it will be good for him and that's just day care.
