I think she’s going to be a great MP. I’d be very happy for her to be mine.

placemats · 09/10/2026 13:10

Yet the focus in the media is all about Polanski.

For shame.

BIossomtoes · 09/10/2026 13:14

Probably just as well. I doubt they’d be saying anything positive.

cardibach · 09/10/2026 13:16

I hope this shuts Polanski up for a bit. Can’t stand him.

BIWI · 09/10/2026 13:22

I can't believe he didn't even attend his own party's conference, to vote on the Zionism stuff, because he was focused on the by-election.

I think Caroline Lucas must be livid right now.

I couldn’t agree with you more.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think he didn’t attend (even virtually) for this vote because he wanted it as policy but wanted to be able to distance himself from it too.

Piggywaspushed · 09/10/2026 13:44

Why is everyone being deleted again?

I have a lot of time for Caroline Lucas, but I wish she would accept that the Green party now is not what it once was, and properly distance herself from it.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 09/10/2026 13:57

I didn't see anything dodgy at all in the earlier deleted posts 😯

That would definitely be advisable for her under the circumstances. The Green MPs would support her, they’re very unhappy with that vote by the membership.

DuncinToffee · 09/10/2026 14:09

Why are those posts deleted?

What’s with the deleted posts @MNHQ?

Bizarre 🤔

placemats · 09/10/2026 14:14

Obviously someone has reported it.

Must remember to put twiglets on my shopping list.

DuncinToffee · 09/10/2026 14:15

We aren't allowed to mention anything about the turn out?

@MNHQ can we have an exlanation?

OP posts:
PickAChew · 09/10/2026 14:20

The last two deletions are bizzare. Unfortunately "at" MNHQ doesn't tag anyone.

placemats · 09/10/2026 14:22

The turnout for Gorton and Denton was 47.5% amidst a flurry of media attention.

The turnout for St Pancras and Holborn was 39% in radio media silence.

SerendipityJane · 08/10/2026 18:09

Odd how the police rolled over so quickly.

Not that it makes much difference. Evidence is evidence - lawfully obtained or not.

According to a BBC report, it was the court who cocked up by issuing the search warrant under the incorrect section. If that is the case then it is the courts who have messed up, not the police. Not that will stop some people saying the latter.

Llttledrummergirl · 09/10/2026 14:32

Well writing a post about how those on the right of politics should take note of today's by election results and the results of previous by elections where Reform and Restore have been trounced and stop saying the whole country wants that is against talk guidelines now.

Albeit I wasn't quite this polite, but mumsnet isn't exactly known for polite observation. Are they banning swearing next?

placemats · 09/10/2026 14:38

The Reform and Restore fracture is behind the bounce in the Conservative vote. Reform would certainly have come third (if wasn't for those pesky Restore vote) in the St Pancras and Holborn win for Labour and Sagal Abdi-Wali.

SerendipityJane · 09/10/2026 15:02

I know the explanation for my deletion.

Reform have decided to spend some of that £72,000,000 on hiring resources to scan social media for adverse mentions of their name.

DuncinToffee · 09/10/2026 15:12

That money won't last long then 😂
