I believe the words "nasty, useless and rude" were mentioned iro Kemi.

Today's one was asking people if the Tory party has changed under Kemi

Oh dear - not exactly a ringing endorsement

Just heard a clip of her interview with Chris Mason. Apparently she thinks there will be a hung parliament after the next election, then another one very shortly thereafter and that’s the one she thinks she’ll win.

Deluded doesn't even touch it.

Deluded doesn't even touch it.

It's almost like "Jeremy through the looking glass" in some respects. The Tory version of Corbymania in Kemi's own head.

Same with the deep in denial fangirls who think labour is rattled rather than splitting their sides laughing

Maybe a Folie en Plusieurs?

Mrs Doyle of defence has cracked me up, racing around with the tea trolley aiming the teapot at enemy drones.

I wish Spitting Image was still a thing. I can see it.

"A battle for the soul of the Nation."

Synonym for Kemi Badenoch: delusional.

PickAChew · 06/10/2026 23:42

There will be real life Malcolm Tuckers out there, unsure whether to face palm or quietly snigger.

https://www.theguardian.com/money/2026/oct/06/chancellor-plans-major-intervention-to-help-poorer-uk-households-with-rising-energy-bills

John Healey is planning a major intervention to cut energy bills for poorer households in this month’s budget, after ministers became alarmed at forecasts that show bills rising by hundreds of pounds in January.

The chancellor is working on plans to spend more than £1bn to help energy consumers, the bulk of which is likely to go towards increasing the discount given to households on certain benefits.

Oh god. That will bring the benefit bashers out en masse.

It’s already started. 🙄

And not a word of the obscene profits the energy companies will rake in.

Profit is not a bad thing. But there are limits.

(Of course if they don't want to report a massive profit, they can always invest the money. YOu heard it here first)

Some of which are so permanently online that I can't imagine them being entirely self sufficient.

They all have solar panels and electric cars but don't mention net zero or 20mph

This is what I object to. Yes, it’s great to help those who are struggling, but does it have to be by chucking money into shareholder’s bank accounts direct from: the public purse? This is what happens when you privatise an essential.

Andy Burnham statement on the third anniversary of 7 October.

"The impact of the attacks has been felt in Jewish communities across the world. In the years since, we have seen a disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour in the UK. An attack on Jewish people in Britain is an attack on all of us."

Taken as a whole, the British public are a bit thick.

When windfall taxes were mentioned (now there's an idea) it was depressing how many people I worked with - who were supposed to be shit hot businessmen - repeated the meedybollocks about how taxing the energy companies would somehow stop them investing.

You really shouldn't have to explain to a room full of senior managers that profit is what you have after investing. (But I was pleased our Belgian CFO did ...)

That is a really good statement. But he will be criticised for it, I expect.

Maybe they’re pensioners, they tend to be the demographic that’s most right wing.

LizzieW1969 · 07/10/2026 10:59

I know a lot who are not, obviously.

TemperanceWest · 07/10/2026 11:28

Badenoch's speech about to begin. I predict nastiness, political point scoring and crap about the "party of welfare".

And policies which are either pie in the sky or more of the same shite that failed for 14 years.
