Well she can't raise defence spending when she's not in power, can she?

Explaining how she'll undo Labour fuckwittery and economic damage is a moving target, since it's still happening.

Once she's in power, she can give a timeline.

She's not in power, and based on the current polling, she is extremely unlikely to be in power any time soon.

So she can say whatever she likes at the moment and it will be of little import.

DuncinToffee · 06/10/2026 17:26

She will have plenty of time to learn aboout her iron dome.

Her Iron Dome seems to be a "moving target" too. But how she isn't quite sure. Land, sea, air? I have visions of her wheeling it around the UK on a tea trolley. The Mrs Doyle of defence.

Kemi will never be in power so it is a mystery which will remain unsolved.

How it will move around is the part you think is important? Way to miss the point 😂😂😂

I am just pointing out that Kemi said it would be mobile but could not explain how and made herself look a bit of a tit.

I am looking forward to her speech tomorrow.

deleted as ir doesn't make sense anymore.

It was a touch badly worded. The thrust was amusement at the idea of a lot of junk mail in Welsh being delivered.

TemperanceWest · 06/10/2026 17:43

Thank you for the "agree" 🍓 . I think we may be looking forward to it for different reasons, though.

I am sure she will fully integrate and learn the language

At least every other weekend, if the weather's OK.

BIossomtoes · 06/10/2026 17:50

Just heard a clip of her interview with Chris Mason. Apparently she thinks there will be a hung parliament after the next election, then another one very shortly thereafter and that’s the one she thinks she’ll win.

Just saw a large pig flying past my window too!

She’s delusional to believe there will be even one election. We’ll, she’s going to end up very disappointed and with egg all over her face.

Mrs Doyle of defence has cracked me up, racing around with the tea trolley aiming the teapot at enemy drones.

In some ways I would love a hung parliament where no one calls Kemi.

Bearing in mind how the Tories shafted the LibDems.

Notonthestairs · 06/10/2026 18:14

They have to keep selling the idea of an election because it’s the only means to try and hold the constituency parties together (bit like telling kids we’re nearly there).

He’s depressed at the drop in violent crime? Seems odd.
Also - wot, no bin?

SerendipityJane · 06/10/2026 18:20

Badenoch has been trying to position the Conservatives as a party that is different to the one that suffered an historic defeat in the 2024 general election.

She told BBC Political Editor Chris Mason "we are going back to the authentic Conservative Party, that people knew and loved"

She might want to avoid the YouGov poll on this statement

Also, perhaps tone down the implicit arrogance that (a) she would be the leader then, and (b) even then whether she gets any say in the matter.

It's hard to avoid the phrase "progressive coalition" thee days. A suggestion that a Labour/LD lash-up might win the majority.

Personally I was quite behind the idea of a national government in 2020 when COVID hit. But as we know the Tories managed that crisis on their own, so can be damned for it.

I believe the words "nasty, useless and rude" were mentioned iro Kemi.
