Goodness me, wasn't expecting that.

I see a few men have dropped onto this thread. Seriously CBA. 🙄

No, neither can I. What do you say to someone who sees a man run over to push a woman he's never met before into the path of a bus and responds with "but sex" and "women are just as bad"?

These are not serious people. They have nothing to contribute.

100% agree. It's almost upsetting actually, as it's so frustrating. I want to think 'I can't expect men to understand of course,' (what it's like to be a woman,) but my DH was like 'glad the abusive fucker is dead, what a cunt doing that, that poor woman.' So men don't have to have this 'er yeah but wot about all the women who push men about' attitude.

Plus, I have yet to see any woman push a man about, and push him in front of a bus. As has been said some men just simply hate women. It's horrible really. They genuinely do loathe women. And particularly older women. As a woman you either get groped and letched at by men (when you're younger) or ignored and scowled at (when you're older.) NAMALT of course and some men are polite and courteous, and even nice, but even so the vast majority have some misogynism deeply ingrained in their DNA. (Even the 'nice' ones...)

I think there are a certain posters who just want to be contrary. But unfortunately I think there are a lot of men who are utterly convinced they are allies to women and good guys, who really think their experience equates. They are really hard to reach because they are so sure they are nice that they don’t really listen. I have a friend like this- a genuinely nice person who has come out with some utter shit when we were teenagers. I reflected recently that he had changed and he said a strong wife and 2 adult daughters had really opened his eyes. Shame it took so long but better late than never, I suppose.

I think somebody deliberately pushing a person into the path of an oncoming bus has a reasonable intention of causing that person harm or death, yep.

Agree

I agree. Nothing 'tragic' about what's happened to this man IMO.

JasmineMac · 16/09/2026 19:22

It wasn't a narrow path, it was a pavement with plenty of space for the cyclist and pedestrian to pass each other.
The manslaughter conviction was overturned because the prosecution hadn't adequately establish a 'base offence' during the trial.
The footage shows clearly that the cyclist ended up on the road as a result of the confrontation.
There should've been a retrial, but it was denied.

No, that isn't true, the retrial was not approved as the cause of the accident was deemed to be inadequate signage.
There was no indication to the cyclist that it was not a cycle lane, and no indication to the pedestrian it was not a footpath.

There was lots of malice directed at the disabled woman involved but the courts took the correct decision based on facts, not opinion.

Is it? I'd have gone with "Oh well, never mind!"

I feel sorry for his child and for his victims but I can't say one less abuser on the planet is a tragedy.

Why are you sorry for him? He deserves no empathy. He's not had a hard-knock life. I feel sorry for his family who will have to live with the stigma of what he did. Shame on those who knew and kept quiet....or were they afraid of him??? Who knows what else he's done.

Can you please post some links of women pushing men into traffic?

Also, “Karens”? Are you a man or just a handmaiden with your internalised misogyny?

Nope. I have ZERO empathy for a 'man' who thinks it's OK to abuse women by shoving them in front of a moving double decker bus. Your sympathy for my 'lack of empathy' is farcical and pointless, so save your tears..... As has been said, one less male abuser in the world can't be a bad thing.

As for his family 'left behind' I have no feelings either way. I don't know them, I have never met them. Neither have you. And you didn't know him either... So you can quit the faux mourning for him and them...

I know right. I thought that grotesque misogynistic slur had died out. Beggars belief that people still use this.

Are you a man or just a handmaiden with your internalised misogyny?

Definitely one or the other.

On the basis that I have given birth I'm guessing I'm a woman. You search the news yourself, I have job and am very busy. I pay for half of everything in this home. No internalised misogyny here. Your turning a conversation about one specific appalling crime into a debate about something else entirely. Have a look at the BBC news from yesterday about the woman who sadistically abused her 2-year old and shook her to death. Far worse than pushing someone. Get over yourself and get a job. You clearly have to much time on your hands.

ThatCyanCat · 17/09/2026 10:11

Women quite obviously are nowhere near as violent as men at a class level and no intelligent, honest person claims that they are. Silly, clumsy and transparent deflection attempts.

His interview with citywealthmag dated 25 Mar 2026

https://www.citywealthmag.com/news/citywealth-leaders-list-60-second-interview-nicholas-brandram-hsbc/

What do you consider to be the most important attributes for a leader?

Compassion, adaptability, resilience and humility – the best leaders serve. The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’s motto is, “Serve To Lead”.

Who do you most admire and why?

My mother! She raised three children as a single parent and is the busiest person I know. I’ve never met someone with greater moral integrity and courage, as well as resilience and stamina. She can make herself an expert in any field and her physical endurance is unparalleled. She’d outmarch the SAS and do it in high heels.

His poor mother.

So no links then? I thought so. Pathetic

Did you read the thread at all? It is not ‘one specific crime’. There’re multiple women who came on this thread to say they were pushed by men.
There’s another thread going about women being pushed over by men in the street being a trend. Look up “butsukari otoko”

You came on this thread to defend a male poster who’s main argument was “but women refuse to move” saying “he’s got a fair point”. Pathetic

Educate yourself, maybe then you'll be able to acknowledge your internalised misogyny

Any woman who calls other woman a "Karen" shows herself to be a misogynist, which your post supports. PS There is no such thing as "gender".

It's a misogynistic term whoever uses it. I actually can't believe people are still using it but I guess hatred of women never ages. Can't even push a woman into traffic these days without a Greek chorus popping up to complain WOMEN ARE JUST AS BAD even though they quite patently aren't.

"Not like other girls" is my guess. We had one the other day. Just got on better with men, you know? Because she liked sci fi and geeky stuff and didn't like vapid shit TV, you know? In 2026.

Are you unfamiliar with arrogant, selfish, entitled men who don't give a seconds thought to pushing someone out of the way because they think they are superior?

Of course he wasn't trying to murder he, he was being a knob head.

He'd have pushed her bus or no bus, the bus was behind him when he pushed her

She was not in any way in his way. He went out of his way to push her directly onto the road. The bus driver's quick reaction saved her life - even then, his wheels only missed her head by centimetres.

He wasn’t a first cousin to Philip, he would have been second cousin once removed.

His grandmother, Princess Katherine, was Philip’s first cousin as their fathers were brothers.

Princess Katherine was the daughter of King Constantine of Greece and Philip's father was Prince Andrew of Greece. Constantine and Andrew were brothers which does indeed make Katherine and Philip first cousins. They were second cousins once removed on their mother's side through a shared descent from Queen Victoria so perhaps that's what you're thinking of. But they were most definitely first cousins on their paternal side as the respective offspring of two brothers.

What's really shocking is that he wasn't just a random banker - he was a former army officer, related to royalty, AND he also hit a woman with his motorbike in another incident where he didn't stop and check that she was okay. This guy really hated women!

This!

It was the convicted woman's lawyers who 'blamed' signage, not the appeal judge.
