Yes, I know that. The point I was making is that the defence lawyer is saying the two things at the same time. Firstly claiming his client is NFA, and secondly stating the he lives with his partner. I was just pointing out the stupidity of it, not questioning why he didn't get bail.

His "KC" seems a bit rubbish.

placemats · 26/09/2026 11:39

One can only imagine the chat the KC had with him.

DuncinToffee · 26/09/2026 11:43

Maybe the same firm Mnachester City used?

I feel really sorry for his children. If he is such a big family man why is he spending all his time organising his "patriots".

Edited

And how come he’s of NFA if he’s a family man? Why isn’t he prioritising finding somewhere to live and getting a job rather than rabble rousing and thuggery? What a prince among men.

His KC can only advise. In the end he has to go with what the client wants. I suspect Tommo is thick and the KC is shrugging!

DuncinToffee · 26/09/2026 12:01

That reminds me of Lord Pannick's face when Johnson was questioned by the Standards Commision.

But a KC is not allowed to advance anything he knows to be untrue.

I believe "studied ignorance" is one of the modules in the first year at law school 😀

From the great Sir Michael Take on Bluesky.
Our Danny
Who art in prison
Racist be thy name
Thy balaclava come
Thy will be done
In ports as it is on dinghies
Give us this day
Our daily funding
& forgive us our racism as we intimidate those who speak against us
& lead us all into aggravation
But deliver us from being civil.🙏🙏

TemperanceWest · 26/09/2026 13:04

I love Sir Michael Take. I wonder who he/she is in real life.

What a bastard - helping poorer people to buy houses. Will nobody think of the private landlords.

Not drilled into the detail, but it leaves me underwhelmed. I'm also a little cats bum face about it's reliance on "new builds".

It's probably just me having standards, eyes and a brain, but a tour of (checks notes) over 30 new builds a few years back only served to convince me that they are exclusively shit.

No amount of pissing around with the money side of things will mitigate the issue of not enough habitable properties. And the issue of not enough habitable properties is an engineered situation caused by skewing the free market to ensure landlords and housebuilders don't have to suffer too much.

BIossomtoes · 26/09/2026 18:26

House building means jobs and hopefully apprenticeships. Even more hopefully an increase in social housing.

RafaistheKingofClay · 26/09/2026 18:29

Today’s arrest seems to be young Bob. On the fence. About this one because I think he’s been groomed by the fascists. Hopefully it isn’t too late for some kind of intervention.

There is also the chance to dramatically reduce the UKs energy requirements with better insulation etc.

Although most of the savings will be wiped out by the work needed to fix the new builds.

Hopefully environmental requirements will form part of this house building programme.

I can feel some tax coming on - today Sybil has annexed a washing up bowl. Who knows - she may go to sea in it...

A good start would be to not build on flood plains.

cardibach · 26/09/2026 18:53

@RafaistheKingofClayis that the young Bob so Abby taken to task by the ‘Give me the stats’ youngsters?

cardibach · 26/09/2026 18:54

I came here to post that @SerendipityJane! Intriguing idea. Be good to see the detail.

^Yes absolutely, especially since flooding is only going to increase with climate change.

Llttledrummergirl · 26/09/2026 19:24

I'm very underwhelmed by it.
It looks as though this is part of the first homes scheme if so it says you have to be be able to get a mortgage for at least half the price of the home

For this you need to either buy a house that has previously been bought with the scheme (I haven't found any in our area) or buy a new build which are more than the 50% mortgage limit for a single person on a normal wage.

It's no help to my ds2 whatsoever.

DuncinToffee · 26/09/2026 19:31

Burnham won't have support from the S*n

He has also confirmed no GE before 2029

Rayner has spoken out against Mahmood's care workers visa reforms.

Someone should have told that to the developers when our road was laid down in the 1930s...
Picture of our road during the 2014 flood. Repeated since. We've had four 'hundred year events' in the last 30 years.

It won’t stop the clamour for one, though!
