MN isn't really bothered in general unless it involves immigrants, Muslims, benefit claimants or trans people. Or something Angela Rayner has done or said.

It has been noticed.

I mean I signed up for the biscuit chat when various social media fora were driving marketing and fintech changes and I was tasked with "having a look at it".

But it's basically become a revenue stream that needs controversy to keep the stats up.

I can easily see a future where the more grown up sites start charging 1p a post or something, to make sure that they are getting slice of that £72,000,000 (which I posit as an example, not a definitive source).

BIWI · 18/09/2026 16:50

That news story is horrific. But i'm surprised that there hasn't been much said on MN given the name of the consultant. Would have thought that the usual suspects would enjoy a good froth about that.

It's almost as if very few posters are real women, isn't it ? Neither bots nor men give a shit about womens health

Have a look at this case. Yes it's the US but why is the mother arrested? Pregnant every year since the age of 15. Yet she is the negligent mother.

Yet undocumented men are a danger to women. Are documented men not a danger to women?

That’s absolutely heartbreaking.

That's horrific and it appears that every adult around her is complicit.

It is just unthinkable. A baby a year from age 15 for 16 years.

Not going to upset myself any more by reading, but the phrase "brood mare" floated through my little brain.

It's almost as if there's a race to the bottom when it comes to sympathy online for those who may be deemed genuine and deserving.

My thoughts exactly & going on for so many years truly horrific.

Yes. It is very, very disturbing.

It’s like that poor French woman whose husband sold her drugged body for decades. There wasn’t much outcry about that as I recall.

MsJinks · 18/09/2026 19:59

I just want to say I’m really sorry I said it was harder to get the vitriol going against the disabled - I didn’t mean to dismiss people’s experiences and feelings here - I know there is venom.
I meant it’s harder to get the black shorts rallied against a group of them I reckon - which sadly some love to see on the move - will frighten me to death if I see them but hey Ho - but anyway that’s no excuse - I phrased it really badly.

Apologies again.

No need to apologise Ms Jinks. You are right that the black shorts are unlikely to rally against disabled people.

It is not easy to post exactly what we mean. I wish that we could all meet up sometime and rant talk about it all face to face! So much easier to express what we want to say.❤️

SerendipityJane · 19/09/2026 10:58

Lest we forget. I make no apologies for not pulling punches. Because I refuse to believe I am the only person who can imagine popping this into some of the current threads on cesspool central and getting replies like "What a good idea", and "I wonder if I can get a job making special wagons ?"

We could do it. We agreed a few months ago it would be feasible. I’m happy to coordinate now that my main occupation is to observe Mr B’s near miraculous recovery.

placemats · 19/09/2026 12:14

Exactly Jane. Genetically sick disabled people do cost money, extra money for education, care and accommodations. You only have to look at threads about SEN, PIP, ESA, and the "BMWs" on the motability scheme.

Eta: I accidentally posted this on a cesspit central thread. It didn't go down too well!

I would be too, if I could easily get there. It would be a lot of fun, like a return to my student days for a little while.
