DH has been cross with me for weeks after I told a very pretentious friend of mine that he watched "Love Island" apparently he has never watched it, it was TOWIE and I got muddled.

I told my OH I didn’t agree that he’d be a great King. In hindsight I shouldn’t have added “terrible” to my opinion. 3 days of silence.

Yes I think he’d be an awful King.

Early in our relationship my husband told me that most people didn't breathe properly, they breathed with their shoulders, had I ever noticed? I admit that the manner in which I told him that this was utter nonsense may have been undiplomatic, but the amount of umbrage he took was still excessive. (He's lovely really, and still comes out with ridiculous observations sometimes.)

cuckoolodger · 11/09/2026 16:14

My DH said he’s always adored me and I was his soul mate etc and in another life he would 100% seek me out. I said but what if I was a worm or a dolphin? He said he’s not attracted to worms or dolphins and I said well surely you would know it was me? And still love me and my soul/ spirit? He was horrified and rather grossed out but I pointed out that somebody married the Berlin Wall and a rollercoaster. He sulked a bit but now often calls me Wormy or Flipper 😂😂😂

Iloveburgerswaymorethanishould · 11/09/2026 16:15

I bollocked my other half for opening a tub of cream I wasn’t even saving…. Turned out he’d used an open one and hadn’t even used it!!! I was really (Hormonal) mad!!!! He looked so smug when he pointed out the unopened tub AFTER I’d told him off!! We sat in bed in fits of laughter over it afterwards so no harm done!!

We were once in a lovely little pub while away on holiday. DH spilt his pint so I went to ask for a cloth.
DH was slightly stroppy when I returned because I had said ‘could we have a cloth please? He’s managed to spill his pint everywhere!’, in a perfectly casual and jokey manner to the lady at the bar. Who was not bothered at all by the spilt drink.

Apparently I shouldn’t have identified it was him, and should’ve just said ‘we have spilt a drink. Please may I have a cloth’

We’d just done a very long walk and got caught in the rain towards the end. I think he was a bit tired and emotional 😂

FlowersInPots · 11/09/2026 16:20

Oh god, in our old house. We had all the downstairs walls plastered and painted so they were blank slates.
We were skint but had saved for nice picture frames so we could put up photos/prints.
The argument about what frames/photos should go where was huge. Started about practicalities, turned into who had no taste/no eye for design.
Was bloody ridiculous, neither of us cared that much. I think it was stress.
Lots of shouting, flouncing (me), sullenness (DH) and a very tense, silent meal later and it was all forgotten.
Still refer to it ‘the picture incident’ 10 years later 😂

Broccoli
Can't remember exact details
But it was stupid.

ShakyBake · 11/09/2026 16:28

Perhaps justified (although I'm not convinced) but I wasn't holding the ladder properly because I thought I left the gas on (boiled eggs) and the ladder went completely sideways with my husband on the top rung and he landed in the back alley and said it was my fault

ginasevern · 11/09/2026 16:55

I once had a discussion with my late DH about a gnu which quickly and inexplicably escalated.

Why would amyone want to be king 🤴 hilarious

I know .. I’d give that bunch a very wide birth

Simonjt · 11/09/2026 17:17

How to cook quorn nuggets.

I was wrong apparently, so I ate them all out of spite.

Mygreyhair · 11/09/2026 17:20

Our biggest argument ever in a 25 year relationship was about how we spend a completely hypothetical lottery win.

WhoWhereWhatWhy · 11/09/2026 17:26

DH and I often have words about the lottery. I ask him if he’s thought us a ticket, he says no as ‘we’re not going to win anyway’ and I say ‘well, we’re not going to win if you have that attitude as it’s bad karma and the win won’t come our way with that’. It’s no coincidence that we haven’t actually won the lottery, I’m sure!

Bendycucumberpatch · 11/09/2026 17:52

Crumbs in butter...

Coffeeandallthebooks · 11/09/2026 18:02

We had an ugly and acrimonious verbal fight in B&Q over two nearly identical shades of white. It lasted 45 minutes.

Equally bad argument because we each liked different multi-million pound mansions and neither would agree to the other person's choice in the event that we won the Euromillions. I am sure we hadn't even bought a lottery ticket that week either!

everthingisgoingtobefine · 11/09/2026 18:43

When our children were both toddlers, DH and I had a massive row about whether Makka Pakka from In the Night Garden was male or female.

I cant even remember why we argued about it as we were both sleep deprived but I remember it got so heated we went to bed not speaking to each other.

Over Makka Pakka. 🤣
