DH has been cross with me for weeks after I told a very pretentious friend of mine that he watched "Love Island" apparently he has never watched it, it was TOWIE and I got muddled.

A memorable one was what's outside the universe.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 11/09/2026 20:26

The pronunciation of Bury and nougat. Still bubbles up after 44 years.

Absolute blazing row over whether we'd just flipped the mattress or rotated it. Madness. I was clearly and obviously right!

Didimum · 11/09/2026 20:34

We disagreed on radiator valves

The pronunciation of the word almond and when to have the heating on and off/turned up or down.

If MN is anything to go by the heating argument is a bi-annual row in most two adult houses!

Arguing with DH about what to spend our wedding vouchers on in M&S after our wedding day...we couldn't agree on pots or plates or something and some other customers were looking at us and laughing at the utter fannies we were making of ourselves 🤣

They weren't wrong.

Berry and noogaaah

Exactly! Not booree and nugget dh.

Minasama · 11/09/2026 21:18

We once had a blazing argument about something Christmas-related (I forget what but it was fairly trivial) which finished with (him) “Fuck you.” (me) “No! Fuck YOU!”
We still laugh about it.

"Nugget" 😆

Waitingfordoggo · 11/09/2026 21:46

DH and I once had a really heated argument about whether dogs see in ‘slow motion’. He was a bit drunk, I wasn’t. Neither of us could make the other understand our point of view. It really felt quite hostile at the time 😂

AssassinsEyebrow · 11/09/2026 21:36

"Nugget" 😆

As I posted, to me its Noogah but when I was a kid (am now 53) all of my elders called it Nugget. Because none of them had experience of European languages. So everything was phonetic. So a word with a T at the end had a hard T, hence nugget. My grandmother (would be 107 now) pronounced pizza as pITza with a hard T!

Depends on age and location as to how forgiving we can be!

Ah but in Italian ZZZ is tz. You dont say piassa but piatza.

Mammyloveswine · 11/09/2026 22:13

Now exdh always refused to ask for scraps at the chippy and I love scraps… he once claimed they “didn’t have any” when he bought chips yet had his own massive pizza with all the trimmings.. I went round and asked, they gave me a bag of scraps and I was so mad that I didn’t speak to him for 2 days! It wasn’t about the scraps it was him just not doing something nice for me as he knows I like chippy chips and scraps with loads of salt and vinegar and I always used to get his takeaway order when he worked late if I was getting a cheeky takeaway as it’s just a nice thing to do!

Wincarnis · 11/09/2026 22:16

Reeta Chakrabarti’s eye makeup. I kid you not. ExDP thought she was wearing too much.

It was more the IT sound. pITTza rather than peetza.

Namechangeforthis88 · 11/09/2026 23:01

A holiday turned sour over the lyrics to "Where the Streets have no name/can't take my eyes off you" by the Pet Shop Boys. Things were already on a knife edge after the whole thing about the location of the Devil's Beef Tub on the way there.

I was right about both. Of course.

We were once in a lovely little pub while away on holiday. DH spilt his pint so I went to ask for a cloth.
DH was slightly stroppy when I returned because I had said ‘could we have a cloth please? He’s managed to spill his pint everywhere!’, in a perfectly casual and jokey manner to the lady at the bar. Who was not bothered at all by the spilt drink.

Apparently I shouldn’t have identified it was him, and should’ve just said ‘we have spilt a drink. Please may I have a cloth’

We’d just done a very long walk and got caught in the rain towards the end. I think he was a bit tired and emotional 😂

Ooh I had similar when H realised he had left a work bag in a hotel room, so I called up , gave the details and identified it was found and now behind reception - H slammed the brakes on, looked at me as if I was off my head and said I shouldn’t have said it was ‘his’ , it apparently made him look stupid - clearly would have been fine for me to look stupid though - absolutely batshit

Heathertrott2 · 11/09/2026 23:22

Too many to remember,.but just the other day, he got in a strop with me after watching EastEnders.

There is a storyline of a character getting pregnant after a one night stand and wanting to keep the baby. He said that he didn't understand why she was doing that as she had just got engaged and wasn't far along, it was easy to abort. I said I understood why she wouldn't want to abort and that it's a highly personal and sensitive decision for a woman. Apparently that translates to me wanting to have an affair and get pregnant 😂

Anxioustealady · 11/09/2026 23:25

If I won the lottery and bought a house with a pool, I wouldn't want people coming over and using my pool. He said I was selfish. We settled that I would build a 2nd pool just for me if I won the euromillions.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 12/09/2026 00:08

That a pony is not a baby horse.

Mygreyhair · 11/09/2026 17:20

Our biggest argument ever in a 25 year relationship was about how we spend a completely hypothetical lottery win.

Same! I think the main bone of contention was how much we would spend on our hypothetical villa in Spain 🤣

Luckily, we came to our senses pretty quickly.
