DH has been cross with me for weeks after I told a very pretentious friend of mine that he watched "Love Island" apparently he has never watched it, it was TOWIE and I got muddled.

Yes I think he’d be an awful King.

Me too and he knows why!

AllJoyAndNoFun · 11/09/2026 18:45

Dh and I had a massive argument about whether Kate Moss should have been prosecuted over the cocaine thing. Then 10 years later we had another argument as we couldn't agree which side each of us had been on in the original argument. He was wrong both times.

The first ever argument with my husband of 16 years was about cheese. I asked him one morning if he wanted toast and he said no thanks. I then had a fancy for a bit of cheese between my toast slices so I ate them and he got the hump with me because he then fancied what I wanted, he thought I was being an arsehole. For our 14th anniversary I bought him a tiny wedge of cheese with a cute little face in a miniature glass dome. When people on tv/movies have a row and say the words "It's not about ..." we always look at each other and say, it's not about the cheese!

We had an ugly and acrimonious verbal fight in B&Q over two nearly identical shades of white. It lasted 45 minutes.

Equally bad argument because we each liked different multi-million pound mansions and neither would agree to the other person's choice in the event that we won the Euromillions. I am sure we hadn't even bought a lottery ticket that week either!

😂

About 25 years ago we had a real humdinger about whether the M3 goes to Southampton or whether that's the M27 it's the M27 and then bloody Victoria Coren Mitchell on Only Connect this Monday had Southampton as the answer to where the M3 finishes and things are still frosty.

I qualified for MENSA membership after a stupid drunken disagreement ( very good natured!) about who was cleverer!

It was after one of those "Test the Nation" programs about 20 years ago, I scored a lot higher than him and he said I must have cheated. So me, in high dudgeon, ordered the paper test to do at home. He supervised me when it arrived and when that came back with a high score I did the proper test at the centre. There it was, proof I was cleverer! So I framed it and put it on the kitchen wall! His pet name for me became "smart arse"!

Early in our relationship my husband told me that most people didn't breathe properly, they breathed with their shoulders, had I ever noticed? I admit that the manner in which I told him that this was utter nonsense may have been undiplomatic, but the amount of umbrage he took was still excessive. (He's lovely really, and still comes out with ridiculous observations sometimes.)

At a training course last week I learnt we only use one nostril at a time to breath in with.
I am 53

How to cook quorn nuggets.

I was wrong apparently, so I ate them all out of spite.

this has really made me laugh, I would so do that!

BitterAndTwistedClub · 11/09/2026 18:58

Newly married and moving into a new house. We had to choose a letter box for the front door. We had a blazing row as apparently my choice was “common”.

We once had a nasty argument about curtain ties.
It got ugly. Harsh words were spoken.
Obviously blame can be equally apportioned.

@everthingisgoingtobefine

Google has just told me 'Makka Pakka from In the Night Garden is a male character, played and voiced by Justyn Towle '

What did you think ?

This is going to sound made up but I promise it’s not. We had a full blown argument about Jason Orange (Take That) chiseled jaw line. 😂

Cotopaxi · 11/09/2026 19:09

Had an argument at school with another pupil about whether some clouds could have flat bottoms.

screamtoabloodysigh · 11/09/2026 19:11

Music. He is an 80s teen; I'm 90s. We slept in separate beds that night and when I went to get the papers the next morning, I didn't buy his.

DaftHapeth · 11/09/2026 19:19

I broke up with a boyfriend after an argument about how to cut up sprouts. We’d been together 4 years and lived together. I can’t lie, things weren’t going great between us by that point, but it escalated badly and finished the relationship off. We still laugh about it!

Theunamedcat · 11/09/2026 19:21

Had an argument about his broad statement that "every woman" fancies brad pitt (i do not) i said Jennifer's (cant spell her surnames) ex? I've not really seen him in anything since Thelma and Louise! He was adamant i was a liar listed films he was in none of these films was my kind of film I was baffled why my husband was going off about an apparently handsome man he isnt my type at all 😂 he carried it over to his mothers house banging on about how he knows i fancy brad pitt etc etc I said to his dad I felt I was in a lavender marriage at this point because my husband wont stop discussing how good looking brad pitt is

He shut up 😁

Pumpkinsaregrowingnicely · 11/09/2026 19:23

There are few things I wont do to win an argument! haha!

farmlass · 11/09/2026 19:42

He was at the top of the ladder and I was at the bottom with a smallish patterned wallpaper (just replacing one strip as it had got damaged )
A tug of war ensued as we both insisted it didn’t line up if it was right for the other one .
In was irrationally mad with him .
I think he won that one as he said something about being at eye level but I was not happy.!!

farmlass · 11/09/2026 19:44

And do not ask about the dishwasher !
We do not align
He is the scandinavian architect and I am the squirrel on crack 🤣

Sounds like ex and me (he of the "I am cleverer than you" argument!)

FannybygaslightinGovan · 11/09/2026 20:15

A mushroom...

We were making dinner and Ex DH was pretending he was the darts player Jocky Wilson. He was throwing a mushroom like it was a dart and I was standing with my mouth open ready to catch it. He was giving all the darts commentary and threw the mushroom 'dart' but it hit me in the eye, something popped and I hit the floor in pain holding my eye.

He got called all the stupid bastards under the sun. Bloody pretending he was bloody Jocky Wilson 🙄

No idea what popped but my eye was fine 30 mins later. He definitely felt bad and never done his Jocky Wilson impersonation again 😂

Had an argument about how we would spend a million pound lottery win even though we haven’t played the lottery for years.
