What did your parents say when you asked what’s for dinner?

Inspired by the thread about words used in different areas of the UK,
what was the stock answer to ‘What’s for dinner?’ in your house?
In our house it was “Ham, jam and baa lamb”. In my friend’s house it was “Shite with sugar on top”.

Windmill pie and if it goes round, you’ll get a bit

It was usually either shit dabs or ifits - as in if it’s in the cupboard then you can have it.

‘What would you like?’ / ‘What do you fancy?’ I feel like I missed out 😂

Kippers and custard

Shite and Sugar.

Catch what you can.

Pig’s head and cabbage

Bread and pullit (?)

Stewed bugs and onions.
Shite with sugar on it.

Slugs on toast (dad says that to my kids and they still think its hilarious)

Either whatever it was or “Wait and see.”

My mum would just tell me.
But I would answer 'wait and see pie'.

Either that or we’d be told what was actually being cooked for dinner. Like “jacket potatoes” or “fish fingers and chips”.
