I’m so intrigued by the user names on here. Some are just so funny.
Mine is derived from my Grandma saying it.

My cats.
I had a neighbour who couldn't remember their names so he called them The Broon One and The White One.

BogRollBOGOF · 26/08/2026 15:41

I bought a Costco packet of toilet rolls very early in 2020 before it became fashionable.

silverbirches · 26/08/2026 15:41

It was namechange time, which I do every so often, and I was looking out of the window. That's pretty much it.

tartyflette · 26/08/2026 15:42

Tartiflette is a delicious French potato and cheese dish. I love it and modified it somewhat for, um, reasons.

TishHope · 26/08/2026 15:43

I always use the name of Crossroads characters

CarpeVitam · 26/08/2026 15:44

I like a bit of Latin 😉

GrandTheftWalrus · 26/08/2026 15:45

Its from the simpsons movie

Goldenboysmum · 26/08/2026 15:46

In memory of my son, he was and still is my Goldenboy

DerangedBillionaire · 26/08/2026 15:49

Inspo from the FWR section.

I change names frequently though, normally it's whatever I can see at the time - my amount of phone charge was favourite for a while.

Doneworking · 26/08/2026 15:50

In reference to me having taken early retirement

SwankyPants · 26/08/2026 15:51

Frenchic paint fan

Idontjetwashthefucker · 26/08/2026 15:52

From a thread on here, it was a poster's response to outrage that she swished some water up and around her fanjo

WetBandits · 26/08/2026 15:53

I’d been watching Home Alone Grin

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I’ve often wondered where your username came from! I was extra pleased to see the inspiration behind the name.

OhIHaveACopy · 26/08/2026 15:53

Mine is from attorney Kevin Reddington.

NotDarkGothicMama · 26/08/2026 15:54

Elon Musk described himself as "dark, Gothic MAGA". I thought DarkGothicMama would be misleading given my fondness for kittens and pastels, so I'm NotDarkGothicMama.

Deadringer · 26/08/2026 15:54

Mine is basic, I wanted something simple and i didn't put a lot of thought into it. It wasn't my first choice, I tried several that were already in use before I settled on it.

I remember that, she was very funny. 😁

Mine is from something Bob Mortimer said on the fishing programme, I think he meant cappuccino. 🤷‍♂️ Made me laugh.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 26/08/2026 15:58

I love Gene Hunt.

SonionRing · 26/08/2026 16:00

Because my teens speak in pure brain rot, I'm too unc to follow half their conversations, and this was a phrase I had to Google. I lack riz, have no aura, but I do now know about the sonionring meme.

Chatterlyssecret · 26/08/2026 16:01

I watched Lady Chatterly’s Lover film.

MyManinCaracas · 26/08/2026 16:04

A joke between me and my DH who manages a multinational group of techies.

Ineedanewsofa · 26/08/2026 16:04

At least 4 years ago I looked at what I was sitting on and my username was born.
Still haven’t replaced it - do I have to name change when I finally do?!

notacooldad · 26/08/2026 16:05

When ds was about 8 he was ranting about something and shouted that his dad was 'notacool dad'. He was really indignant over something that is now lost in time but it was funny in the moment!
Me and dh made jokes about it for weeks playing on what was said. I said well im his mum so im not a cool dad, its definitely you that is not cool as well. Or something like that, I cant remember. Ds is nearly 27 so it was a while back.

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 26/08/2026 16:05

Mines from a Discworld book (can't remember which one at the moment) and describes the "Samuel Vimes theory of socioeconomic unfairness."

"The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.
Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that’d still be keeping his feet dry in ten years’ time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet."

Because MN glitches so much!
