Heatwave Support Thread Part Three.

Can't believe we even need a third thread. The summer heat really has been relentless hasn't it? Since mid May virtually, we have had unprecedented heat, 4-5 degrees Celsius hotter than predicted most of the time, high humidity, half the country in drought, constant record breaking temperatures, and 30 degrees Celsius or higher, on more days this summer than ANY other summer.

And there doesn't seem to be any end to it, anytime soon!

Some people are just about coping, and some people are really struggling, especially those with underlying health conditions.

Here's a thread where everyone can get together and have support each other.

By the way, as the poster who submitted the previous thread said... This is ONLY for those who hate this heat, and heatwaves, and struggle to sleep because it’s unbearable, struggle to be outside in it, and struggle with it inside their home too. And for those who feel ill from the heat.

People can come here for a moan .. hot weather lovers can start your own thread!

Is anyone else in an area with a high of 25 today? I say ‘high’ but it’s making me feel extremely low. An unbearable overnight of 20 fucking degrees and it feels humid and damp.

I think I had one day last week where for a moment I thought it felt pleasant (it was at most 20 degrees outside) - except of course, I wished it had been no more than this for the last four months and it would now fuck right off.

Ive said before I live in a high density area and last weekend was unbearable with antisocial wankers. It’s never ending, this weekend is forecast to be ‘fine’ and dry which means more ASBO crap.

Sigh.

yes and its supposed to be 24 here tomorrow Its October on Thursday FFS

We have 22 degrees here today in my area of East Anglia, but with humidity of about 75% so it feels more like 24/25 and it's VERY "sticky".... literally the laminate in my flat almost feels damp to walk on...it's quite gross.

And I can't have the windows open because I think some nearby farmers have been muck-spreading but it smells really, really strongly of like...stale urine....like an old pub trough you'd get in the men's lop or something...it was making me feel quite nauseous so I had to shut the window when I woke up and smelled it 🤢.

24 and cloudy here with 81% humidity, ffs. It feels worse than yesterday because there was at least a lovely breeze.

Blazing sunshine and 21s and 22s from tomorrow until next Tuesday the 5th of october ffs. I could weep at the incoming antisocial behaviour.

I woke up the other morning and thought I'd fallen asleep with the heating on (have had a couple of nights where it's felt a bit chilly and I've put it on for just an hour or so)....nope, it was just out ridiculously mild September weather making my flat feel about 26 degrees! This is just so utterly bizarre....

I found it quite sticky as well outside a couple of hours ago. It was quite uncomfortable

ConstantlyFuriosa · Yesterday 12:20

Somebody please make it stop!

I had a miserable and stressful lockdown when the sun blazed out every day. The days grew longer and our close neighbours played music all day and evening as they, and everyone else, lived in their gardens day after day, week after week. So I totally get this about antisocial behaviour, and those who do it just don’t care, do they?

It’s warm and humid today. We were supposed to have a rainy morning but instead we kept the humidity and had just a few splashes.

The one wonderful thing is, it gets dark early

We had this yesterday. We're in the Midlands. I put it down to muck spreading but it's even worse this year!

I was wondering why felt bit unwell when got home this evening but then realised my flat thermostat showing 27.4c inside (I’ve also gone back to wearing jeans bc it’s late September)
