I saw a thread on instagram about this and found it really interesting and wanted to hear more. What is the worst place you have visited and why?

Florida. I caught Covid on the flight out. It was unbelievably hot and humid. The whole place felt fake. I truly hated it.

Delhi. I didn't mind the rest of India I saw, loved Jaipur and Goa but I hated Delhi.

Bodrum, Turkey. Just constant harassment and not an enjoyable experience. Just felt very stressful. Has put me off visiting Turkey again, though I am sure other places in the country are lovely!

Blackpool..run down and depressing!

Dudley Zoo.

Most miserable upsetting place. (This was years ago. I hope it’s changed.)

Menorca. Never been more bored.

Atlanta. It was like Croydon made ten times bigger and with ten times the traffic, heat and humidity.

Egypt for me was awful. I remember being about 13 with blonde hair and men just constantly came up to me grabbing and stroking my hair. It scared me to death

Hull. I am sure there are nice bits but we weren't in them.

Rhyl. Drove through it on the way to somewhere else and the tattoo to teeth ratio was all wrong. We had to stop for a while as there were two blokes fighting in the middle of the street while their partners egged them on, each clutching a sobbing child. I was with my Mum and she was quite upset as she'd often gone there as a child/teenager with her family and said it used to be lovely.

New York, people were rude from the moment we got inside JFK to when we were back on the plane home. Poor customer service too. The place is very overrated in our opinion. (Even our teens were underwhelmed. )

Great Yarmouth- surely the armpit of England

Birmingham. Concrete and so dull.
Hated Egypt & Turkey. Too many pests and got ill from the all inclusive buffet both times.

I got bitten by a peacock on a nursery trip to Dudley Zoo almost 40 years ago!

Naples - run down and menacing - NEVER again!

Wow. We found it the complete opposite. Super friendly 😮

The Apollo Hotel, Birmingham. It was the early 90s and I STILL shudder to think about that place.

Blackpool..run down and depressing!

Same, couldn’t get on board with it… felt totally underwhelming.

Hollywood. Once you've seen the Chinese theater and the foot and handprints there's nothing there.

Malta. Flies everywhere and non- descript food. Wanted history and old buildings. Got H&M and the Body Shop

Well any number. Rotherham was pretty bad. Krakow in 1989. Acapulco. Gosport.

India. Never felt so unsafe in my life and so grateful to be on a plane headed back to the uk.

Morocco was also extremely hard work and also felt unsafe/got pestered lots but a bit less dangerous.

Hohofortherobbers · Yesterday 22:25

Gambia, what a shit hole.

HouseHouseHouse7 · Yesterday 22:25

Amsterdam. Dirty, noisy, sleazy. The pleasant people and the museums didn’t compensate for it.

Krakow is lovely now! I can believe it wasn't back then though!
