Another business casualty of Reeves's financial mismanagement and greed is closing and sets out exactly why their business is no longer viable.

I'm possibly feeling it more because a visit to Norris's was a regular part of our horse-mad childhood for my siblings and me.

With established businesses shutting up shop on an almost daily basis, and illegal immigrants also arriving on an almost daily basis, the UK is almost unrecognisable these days.

@Nuthatch26I heard on the radio that countries were angry (fair enough) but that isn’t the same as closed borders as I am sure you know.

I have family travelling from Spain to France over the weekend by car so it’s of interest.

As to neighbouring countries, that’s rather the point isn’t it? European Schengen borders aren’t based on being contact borders.

No, the crisis has just started also, but in terms of international relations and diplomacy, it’s adopting a strong stance from the go and being very open with it, it’s not a vague, noncommittal « we are closely monitoring the situation etc. »

I see that Fishbowlee has adjusted her objection. I said ‘started to’ because I was being careful not to do what the Labourites do, which is to exaggerate and scaremonger.

It’s all very clear how the EU is reacting. It really doesn’t need nitpicking.

And we re all sensible enough to understand that the people talking about « closing borders » in this context mean tightened controls and checks and not the total cessation of all transportation of goods and people between countries, but if that’s the only straw you can cling on, hold onto it then.

@DenizenOfAisleOfShamewhere did I adjust anything? I asked you when the borders were closed & you replied “read the news” which confirms borders aren’t closed. You did exaggerate & it’s not nitpicking to ask for clarification. I think it’s a good thing that other countries are expressing their concerns.

I think it's all more of a diplomatic gesture than a practical one, anyway. Many of these countries have a network of back roads that cross the borders, you'd need to police each one - and for how long?

Ceuto doesn't border Europe. I suspect it will fall to this rabble. Looking on ✖️ it must be terrifying the videos show them breaking into homes, looting shops. They're only dressed in shorts and teeshirts they have no luggage at all.

More EU countries/officials are making noise, the Spanish PM is talking of an aggression against their sovereignty and urges Morocco for a forceful response (ABC).
