Aww your poor DGD but makes sense for her to not come.

I think you could be onto something about disturbing the tightness. I have been looking at somatic therapy/release and if traumas stored in the muscles then maybe massage releases it but makes us feeling exhausted or in pain due to the sudden release of it all

I really wonder if this is it. My pelvic area is so tight and I had years of severe gynae pain so I wonder if I was forever bracing against it. I know I have a tense neck as well, so my shoulders are always up by my ears!

@TeaAndStrumpets HFM is painful, DS picked it up in the first month of nursery. He was miserable and then passed it to me, gosh did I feel rotten with it.

Thanks I have been feeling a bit guilty but they can come another time!

TodayIsabetterone · Yesterday 17:05

Oh poor DGD @TeaAndStrumpets It can be quite miserable as others have said! Donโ€™t feel guilty, itโ€™s absolutely the right decision! Hope she soon feels better.

I always think a reaction to osteopath or massage is because for us physically itโ€™s a bit like a workout of the muscles which ME/ CFS bodies donโ€™t do well with. Or maybe to do with releasing toxins but I never know thatโ€™s a bit of a myth really. I saw a Bowen practitioner years ago who used to say that.

Edited because my tired brain cant spell ๐Ÿ™„

Day one done of the decorator. Hopefully heโ€™ll be done in two days. First coat all done ๐Ÿ‘ We need to get DD to choose curtains preferably before sheโ€™s back.

We took dippy dog up to my MILs this afternoon. Sheโ€™s the one who looked after her whilst on our recent holiday. She has a large garden that the dog absolutely adores. I neednโ€™t have worried about her pining for us on holiday, she didnโ€™t want to leave today and pulled to go back inside. Had to be carried out as she literally put the brakes on ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sheโ€™s obviously happy there at least which is good to know!

Iโ€™m home and lying flat. I swear just being upright alongside just using it makes my whole arm throb by the end of the day. Havent been able to bed rest today either so pain kicked in earlier than usual. I had to ask MIL if she had any painkillers ๐Ÿ˜• DH is cooking a breakfast later for dinner!

Actually I often get glands swelling up after treatment so the lymphatic system is working overtime... who knows!

FuzzyPuffling · Yesterday 18:30

I hate massages. However gentle I ask for them to be, it always really hurts.
Happily, a massage is easily avoided.

Tiredandwired2 · Yesterday 18:40

I have heard about toxins being released too. I may use a massage gun sometimes for my shoulder and I'm fine then. Who knows. It's all a bit of a mystery ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@TodayIsabetterone How did your cruise go? Was that a really long time ago? I'm all out of sorts with the chat

TodayIsabetterone · Yesterday 19:13

@Tiredandwired2 cruise was fabulous thanks for remembering! We got home about a month ago and it really lifted my spirits. Lots of resting of course (an afternoon nap most days) but I managed more than I expected. Of course it always helps when you donโ€™t have the day to day stuff to think about!

Sorry to hear the car will be expensive, horrible when you get hit by a bill in that way ๐Ÿ˜•

Tiredandwired2 · Yesterday 19:23

@TodayIsabetterone thats lovely. I'm glad you had a good time as I know you were worried about it. I have heard cruises are one of the best ways to holiday with chronic illness.

Thankfully the car was only slightly over my budget so not too bad. At least it's done and one thing off my mind

martha79 · Yesterday 19:40

I tend on the side of the toxin release being a myth, I think it's more to do with your body) nervous system reacting to just feeling different. I'm sure my body thinks all this tension is 'safe' and relaxing feels a bit threatening. I will ask her to go gently with me, anyway!

Sorry to hear the car went over budget @Tiredandwired2

I had a late and slightly tense meeting at the end of the day (still clenching my jaw now ๐Ÿ˜ฌ). Watched the first episode of the new series of Ludwig and I'm now lying on my bed where I might just stay.

Oh is Ludwig out now? Fabulous, thanks!

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 20:01

Is Ludwig worth watching? Iโ€™ve never seen it

It is!

I like it @JewelleryCat - good mysteries and characters.

FuzzyPuffling · Yesterday 20:32

I like Ludwig too. Will.i stay awake throughout? Who knows...it is a mystery that cannot be fathomed.

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 20:37

Would it be worth starting from the beginning to know the characters or just start from series 2 whenever it starts?

I would start from the beginning, it'll make a lot more sense.

Iโ€™ll try and remember to give it a watch, thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

Evening all. I forced myself to take DS to the cinema and I am absolutely wiped out. Been asleep since I got back. I'm fed up of it just now. Feels like summer has been pushing myself and crashing. I don't know how to put my needs first as a single Mum. Seems impossible. I'll be back at work soon too .. dreading it though routine may be easier.

I can't remember anything about Ludwig so I'll have to rewatch S1. Everything is an effort...!

Lately I've just watched stuff I've seen before because it feels easier ๐Ÿ™ˆ

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · Yesterday 21:20

Ah, @MewithME that sounds really difficult. But you are being supermum, so you definitely get a gold ๐ŸŒŸ for that.

There is no shame at all in watching easy stuff for a while. We've spent the last few tv sessions rewatching Rob Rinder and Ruth Goodman doing easy history on channel 5.

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 21:57

@FuzzyPuffling Iโ€™ve watched them! I thought George IV was so gross and extravagant

Speaking of C5, usually their so called cheesy crime isnโ€™t bad to watch and itโ€™s very easy so you donโ€™t need to concentrate. Their latest offering is called Benidorm is Murder, episode 4 today. Itโ€™s on at 9pm but Iโ€™ve been watching on +1

Yes definitely start from season one. I love it. We watched it last night and enjoyed it a lot. Did anyone else think the sound was very poor? I am a bit deaf but DH thought so too. We watched on iPlayer.

TeaAndStrumpets · Today 06:53

I was up before 6. I take some medication once a month which can cause damage if it gets stuck. The tablets vary enormously in size and this month I got an enormous round one which was difficult to swallow. I had 3 glasses of water and have been sitting bolt upright so hope it's gone down now! I actually ate a few crackers which was all I had available, though not supposed to eat for an hour. Of course the more I think about it the more I imagine it's still there.

Breakfast soon so then I'll know I've survived!

TeaAndStrumpets · Today 06:57

I keep seeing adverts for lovely Brora jumpers, summer is over!

I thought the sound was a bit off. I kept turning the volume up and down. I hate it on other programmes when the music is louder than the dialogue.

@MewithME series 2 of Ludvig starts with a fairly long recep of series 1 which was heloful. ๐Ÿ˜

The King George programme was mind blowing in terms of his extravagance.

Hope the tablet has gone where it's supposed to be @TeaAndStrumpets
