What do you think of people who steal at supermarkets?

obviousky shoplifters are scummy bad people but I also think they are pathetic and weak. Imagine being so useless that you can’t find a way to get things honestly.

This. I disapprove of any theft and saw someone thriving laundry capsules last week. But I’m already doing your cashier’s job, Sainsbury’s, I’m not covering for your security guard as well.

Baby milk is one of the top items sold on to Black market. Also calpol. They are then sold on in mini-marts across Europe.

There are sources of support for parents unable to afford formula.

We have to report all shoplifting involving a child eg if they conceal on the child or in the buggy. Police treat it as child exploitation rather than shoplifting & will always investigate in order to safeguard the child.

A couple of tubs of formula is a nice little earner for some people

I work in a shop and we get shoplifters but I think just as bad or worse of the well to do people who try to pull a fast one with returns and refunds. We get customers all the time claiming that they bought something last week , here's the packaging and receipt and they're not happy it's got a hole/ broken etc etc. when actually they bought the replacement last week and are returning an item that's months or years old!

Do you realise how small the profit margins are in supermarkets? There’s no room for theft on the scale we are seeing it without passing it onto the customer.
