Burnham beat Binface already. And your misogynist. And all the other parties.

He did indeed. He also beat one Rob Kenyon, acolyte of the Great Nigel.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that the person Starmer would have turned to for advice on political appointments was Farage..

No, and Starmer was the one who made the terrible judgement, but we don’t know the ins and outs of how those decisions were reached. There could have quite easily been someone in Starmer’s or McSweeney’s ear whose interests it would serve to have Madelson appointed. There’s all sorts of dodgy people who have influence over things.

I just find it odd how he advocated for the appointment and then came out screaming about it. You think Farage isn’t connected to people who would have known what was in the files? Of course he did 🤣

Ah, that's the fella. Had forgotten his name already, that's who I meant by the misogynist.

No one know the ins and outs of how that decision was reached. The Foreign Affairs Select Committee reported today concluding that the process was "nothing short of disastrous" and "made up as it went along".

I think we will never know what the happened.

We will never know 100%, but it is in foreign interests to overthrow governments they don’t like. It is of benefit to Russia and the USA if Farage got to power. We know this. Yes, I think Starmer made a spectacular error of judgement and it just highlights the weaknesses in our political system that need addressing, but they would have found a way to get him ousted one way or another because no matter what he did, he got absolutely hounded.

Same as I think the way Farage has pulled this stunt is wrong. If you’re under investigation, you either shouldn’t be allowed to resign at all until it concludes, or it should continue if you are allowed to resign. Also, if someone resigns they should be prevented from running again until the next election. I would be closing those loopholes sharpish after this if I was in government.

He's only under investigation by a committee of Labour and Tory MPs. They are absolutely going to find him guilty. Kemi has already publicly said so.

The investigation is pointless we already know the conclusion they will come to.

?? Refer back to your ludicious post saying that somehow Mandelson was Farages fault. That is 100% Starmer. It is why the whole country is delighted that Starmer is gone.

I didn’t say it was Farage’s fault, at all. I said Farage advocated for it and was quite happy with Mandelson being appointed. I didn’t say Farage had any influence in the final outcome. I said it was funny how he was quite happy for it to go ahead when he would have known all along what was in the files and what was going to be revealed given his close relationship with the US MAGA movement.

I reckon there would have been other shady people behind the scenes influencing it, so they could use Mandelson to spy for them on U.K. affairs (he passed details on) and then throw him under the bus with the second drop of the files because it suited them to throw a govt who wasn’t serving them under the bus and Farage could come out shouting. He would have known what was going on.

FYI The government electoral commission does have MP’s but it also has lay people making decisions on rule breaches. You’re in a cult.

I’m not?

I think changing PMs midterm is completely unhelpful, and gives us no stability.

It was tedious when the Tories had 6362727711 PMs over a matter of months, and it’s tedious now.

I’ve got a fair idea what the conclusion will be.

But if the conclusion is that he’s a crook, that’s not because he’s being ganged up on/singled out/set up, it’s because… he’s a crook.

I doubt very much that Kemi has said that Farage will be absolutely found guilty.

Wrong. The Parliamentary Standards Committee is made up of 14 people. 3 Labour, 3 Tory, 1 Lib Dem and 7 lay members.

If you're going to spout nonsense, make sure it isn't easy to check.

Even if she did say that, she probably meant that the situation is so serious that she thinks he will be 100% found guilty because of what is already known, just like everyone else thinks that if they were all being honest. It stinks to high heaven.

What he has done aren’t the actions of an innocent man. If he was innocent, he would let the investigation conclude.

She said that they will stand a candidate in the real byelection that will follow the standard investigation. That will follow, not that may follow.

That is different to what you said.

She is wise to prepare for a potential by election

She didn't say potential, she said it will happen.

He is already known to have broken the rules on 17 occasions, and I’d assume Kemi Badenoch knows the rules on £5m “donations,” and whether you can take financial advantages from convicted criminals.

I’m all for “innocent until proven guilty,” but honestly - he’s hardly covered in glory. Unless you’ve assumed he is innocent. Somehow.

pointythings · 10/07/2026 10:32

Nowisthetimeforicecream · 09/07/2026 21:39

She didn't say potential, she said it will happen.

Given the additional stuff now coming out about George Cottrell and his mum, Badenoch isn't wrong. And if Farage is innocent then why isn't he being open and honest towards the investigation? Surely if he has nothing to hide, that's the sensible thing to do?

ByGraptharsHammer · 10/07/2026 11:41

It looks sleazy, which people don’t tend to like. You can do almost anything in politics but money does seem to be the thing in the UK that finishes careers.

It’s also about the structure of Reform. 5 million given to a political party is generous but not suspect. 5 million to an individual is.

Dear God, it really is a cult.

I know there's no point trying to give you some facts, but as PP says you are completely mistaken regarding the make up of the committee.

£5m from abroad would be a problem, even donated to a political party

Lifeomars · 10/07/2026 12:54

I am laughing at the memory of Jenrick and his vidoes of challenging tube fare dodgers. He probably thought they were rank amateurs compared to the things that it appears Reform are getting up to

What a strange posting style. What’s with all the …..LOL……? (Yes, it certainly does make me think you’re a bit young or something isn’t quite right, to be very honest).

Yes, but you still have not addressed why you think Farage "advocated for PM" as a way to "undermine the government" and in your thinking it doesn"t appear to be 2Tears fault in any way, it seems to be Farage"s fault ( in your way of thinking) Are you saying Farage had advance information on PM and set them up? (assuming again that he has the power to influence the government on a matter that was 2Tier"s responsibility)

How childish to refer to one by their proper surname and another by a cheap sneer. If you want people to debate politics with you, you'll need to change that. As it stands, you come across as deeply unserious.
