Fingers crossed.

Farage to make statement this afternoon …

His paymasters want to know why they gave him £5m to be the next prime minister and they are now asking questions because the next PM is someone who until three weeks ago was a private citizen

i suspect he has a lot of questions to answer and none of them look good for him.

also he doesn’t want to be prime minister because it would involve a substantial pay cut, and having to do some actual work.

AgitaAndroid · Today 12:46

I sincerely hope it will be the statement I’m longing for.

Agree, he is the most work shy idiot of them all! I imagine if he resigns he will blame all of the nasty people calling him out, but will be relieved he can now fuck off with all his money and carry on doing fuck all.

Farage won’t ever be PM, it’s far too much work. He just likes to create a furore then walk away…just like he did with Brexit.
He only works for his own personal financial gain.

Probably Trumpesque. How dare anyone question me, I am the Messiah for the United Kingdom and will lead it to the sunlit uplands and do Brexit "properly".

Although I like the pp's idea that his paymasters are wondering how someone who wasn't an MP a few weeks ago will be PM very soon, barring a massive upset.

Exactly. the substantial paycut he would have to make to be PM isn't going to be enough.

ooooohhhh.....

and with GB News making substantial cuts, could we soon be on our way to the world rehealing itself from division and hatred?

On my bingo card is “I’ve been forced out by mainstream media getting in the way of me doing my job”

AgitaAndroid · Today 12:55

Interesting @user9764325677! The Guardian has 5 possibilities:

Farage says he will ‘make statement on my future in public life at 2pm’ – UK politics live

The Reform UK leader will speak after Labour asked the Electoral Commission to investigate claims that he broke electoral law by not disclosing gifts

If he's going, it definitely won't be because he's been found out to be a nasty charlatan taking backhanders. It will because nasty people ganged up on him and forced him out to great to the detriment of the country.

I'd imagine poloce forces are standing ready for the fall out in some areas.

TemperanceWest · Today 13:08

I don't think he is going to step down. Probably will whine about the establishment then declare he taking a break. Not that his constituents would notice the difference.

Birthdayfeel · Today 13:10

Oh god, I think I've just seen where this is going. If he steps down temporarily for health reasons, caused by the intense stress of the "witch hunt", Reform will be invincible and he'll retain influence and "gifts" without having to do any of the actual work.

AgitaAndroid · Today 13:10

If I were one of the sugar daddies I’m not sure I’d be entirely delighted at the amount of digging into my affairs that’s currently going on …

Yeah, I reckon you're spot on with this.

AgitaAndroid · Today 13:12

This morning someone on R4 Today suggested that a withdrawal on Farage’s part might lead to his coming back stronger, and with greater legitimacy.

Was slightly worrying.

Atkinsondesperation · Today 13:14

I hope he isn’t going to resign. All the Reform voters then switch to Restore.

bigboykitty · Today 13:18

He's going because too many chickens are coming home to roost and he can't face the scrutiny, but it will a big boohoo, the lefties forced me out by going after my family, from the giant orange paedo baby playbook.

Westfacing · Today 13:18

Reform will be finished without Farage 😄

Rupert Lowe doesn't have the charisma of Farage and I don't think Restore will perform as well as Reform

Westfacing · Today 13:20

The Tory MPs who jumped ship must be sorry!

bigboykitty · Today 13:20

And the Reformers will be wailing look what you all did to poor Nigel. He was our saviour etc. I've already heard a woman on the radio this morning saying 'all he did was accept a £5m gift from a friend. I'd do it too'.

twocornichons · Today 13:21

Please go and spend more time with your family Farage. Peddling nothing but hate but can’t handle the truth coming out that he’s rinsing the narrative for money

hmmdunno · Today 13:22

Infamy, infamy! They’ve all got it in for me!

Happyjoe · Today 13:22

Hopefully it's "I am going to fuck off".

Happyjoe · Today 13:24

But sadly I doubt with his ego it will mean he's going.
